That's a couple of time the somewhat amorphous (to those of us on the outside) word 'character' has been used. How would you guys characterize this character?

    Somewhat gritty.....well that's my presets anyway :p

    What, like cockles ?

    Ewwwww fish food :s

  • I'm having some 'issues' loading the beta as IAA-Instrument in Cubasis. Seems to work properly in some of the other 'hosts' (no 'IAA-Transport Bar' yet though).

I've got some issues with stuck notes on the inbuilt keyboard, but unable to reproduce it.

I had that issue a couple of betas ago but not with the current beta that came out today.

I have to admit I've been very picky when testing this app and there are some things I will miss too.
(Like toggle between Uni/Bi-Polar LFOs, LFO Start-Phase and Phase inverted version of the LFO & Osc waves to name a few). I really hope the Cubasis IAA-Instrument loading issue will be solved too.
Hoping we'll see an AU version too :)

Just hoping we get midi parameter control to use in AUM soon. I keep feeling the need for a few more modulation options.

I asked for additional LFO's and a loopable envelopes as well as options to individually modulate the oscillator outputs. The ring modulator is nice but there needs to be a way to individually control/modulate the level of OSC1 & OSC2 before they are fed to the ring-modulator. Talk about geeky huh? :D

I'm really getting quite fond of it, but as you say, it just needs a few more mod options to really make it a geek synth :p

Same here, I also asked for some way to see the parameter values.

Without unipolar LFO it's pretty hard to 'Tune-In' the pitch-modulation depth in semitones-especially when using Square LFO since the pitch is never really 'on the note' rather always over or under. With Uni-Polar it would start on the note and only go upward or with negative modulation amount down. Yepp was trying to create the classic hubbard-octave arpeggio effect with help of the lfo and pitch-envelope.

Oh well we can't have everything in one synth.
It's already pretty deep and more complexity would probable confuse 'normal' users hahaha :D

Nope make it a Matrix 12 mod beast I say :p

Which is where I come in. For every expert there's a dabbler, and what matters to us may be different, but also helps to sell. Or so the theory goes.

I'm no expert and no beginner, I just expertly act like a beginner sometimes :p

To be honest DRC is already quite a complex and took some time to get to know.
I do believe it could be made 'easier to use' by grouping the elements differently.

I struggled a bit in the beginning to understand why there was en LFO2 assigned to control the 'Envelope 2 Amount' for the filter. Usually an envelope directly controls the filter and that option was hiding in the mod page where the amount can be positive or negative.

So the first time of the beta-testing wen't unfortunately to 'getting to be friends' with the UI and Synth-Engine, after that I could focus on the functionality :)

It's shaping up to be a very nice synth indeed.

Yep and I stupidly thought there was no midi parameter access due to not realising that AUM only shows them for AUs! So how stupid am I ! Lol :p

  • At least with my iPod I can't blow stuff up! Wait till I get my modular system ;)

And I thought the midi-implementation was broken because it made no sound when used stand alone and sequenced by midiSTEPs. Actually it turned that 'Background Audio' is not implemented yet and it's not needed when the app is used with AudioBus or IAA Host. DOH!!! (In the best Homer Simpson-Style).

I was thinking about you and your modular quest the other day. How's it going?

It's in limbo while I'm waiting for the finances to sort themselves out.

Been reading up on lots of modules in the mean time. Problem is I just get into one idea for a set up and then something else crops up. It's never ending.

So I'm going to wait until I have the money ready and just go and buy something :p

  • Ha too sounds familiar!

Been testing this from the perspective of a dabbler, 'cause that's all I can do, and design wise, which is what I do. So far, I've contributed some presets and tried the app in various configurations, mostly using the alternate hex keyboard. I'm thinking that this aspect is a great selling point, and ideally would be available full screen at launch.

Thanks for your feedback. I will definitely add a full screen version of the performer area, not for the initial though.

Let's see what I can find. Thanks for reporting!

I've got some issues with stuck notes on the inbuilt keyboard, but unable to reproduce it.

Please let me know if the latest version (12) already sorts that.

Just hoping we get midi parameter control to use in AUM soon. I keep feeling the need for a few more modulation options.

Let's see how it goes and the feedback from the general public when released. VST version will be available upon release. Are you interested in testing it out?

Those are definitely nice suggestions but when we designed DRC we tried to keep it stupid simple. Let's see what the future brings! :)

  • Your feedback has been amazing. Thank you so much! I have been to fix really particular issues that could only be found by non biased testing. I'm finishing the VST version of the synth. AU will come later. Sorry but there are too many things going on right now. We need to let the dust settle. Is there anyone interested in testing the VST version? I have it available on Mac 64 bit and Windows 32 bit.

Been testing on and off all day and not one stuck note issue with version 12, so seems it's a winner :)

Good to hear, what happens here on my iPad Air 2 iOS9.2.1 is that when ever I try to load DRC as IAA-Instrument the screen goes black (like if iPad is going to sleep). When I wake up the iPad DRC is loaded but makes no sound since it's not 'Connected' to the Host. The icon is there but greyed out.

And yes, I've tried all the usuals, rebooting etc.

    Hopefully this will get fixed.
