Y cable
I want to find an adaptor or suitable equivalent that will allow me to have my phone connected to a charger whilst also having music keyboard/audio interface plugged in. Is there a simple Y connector available that any if you use? Need something cheap (apple ! Lol ) and portable. I'm finding that with all this audiobus magic going on battery is draining very quickly ;-)

Tim Webb posted about one of those mobile battery chargers that acts as a USB pass-through and works well. Tim posted about this about a year ago--including a video of its usage. I'll do some looking and see if I can find it. It only cost about $20 if I remember correctly.
Thank you :-)
I found the link. It is:

The one that is listed appears to be more expensive than the $20 I had thought it would cost. There may be other devices that are cheaper though. I hope this helps! :-)
After reading the article again, this may not be what you are looking for after all. Check things carefully to see. It appears that this is for allowing usb powered devices to work with an iPad in portable situations. Nevertheless, it may be useful.....
I've been looking in to this recently and it seems the only contenders are:
IRig midi £40ish - allows you to charge device and connect to the midi jack of a keyboard (which in turn needs to be powered)

Vestax v-midi £100ish - charges device and multiple audio interfaces like a hub at the same. Also acts as a headphone amplifier. Nice unit but not cheap.

Griffin studio connect £100ish - pretty similar to the vestax

Unfortunately that's about it! I even tried an expensive belkin USB hub and a cheap Chinese hybrid cck/ hub which both charge an ipad and power usb devices but not at the same time. There seems to be a gap in the market for something cheaper along the lines of the irig midi which works with USB midi devices like the camera connection kit does.
