Apps that can send MIDI data out.

The title pretty much sums it. Post here the apps you know that have the ability of sending MIDI data (not only clock), thus having the ability of writing to MIDI sequencers such as Auria Pro, Cubasis, MTS or controlling via MIDI apps like DrumPerfect, ThumbJam etc. I think the said sequencers are obvious positives, so let's leave them out of this list for now.

List of apps that send MIDI data:

ChordPolyPad
StepPolyArp
Arpeggionome
Fuguemachine
Gestrument
ScaleGen
TC-Data
Changeling
NodeBeat
SoundPrismPro
Enkl
iTuttle
Ondes
Sidecar
Animoog
Cubasis
Auria Pro
Different Drummer
Cream
DrumPerfect Pro
Chordion
Patterning
Navichord
Kilmer
Genome
MODSTEP
Arpeggist
Thesys

  • There are quite a few. Here are the ones I like:

    ChordPolyPad (universal app)
    StepPolyArp
    Arpeggionome (has an iPhone version)
    Fugue Machine
    Gestrument (universal app)
    ScaleGen
    TC-Data
    Changeling

  • Chordion is my fave. Totally brilliant. Also:
    TB MIDI Stuff,
    NodeBeat
    SoundPrismPro
    Enkl
    Ondes
    ITuttle

Those are just the ones I'm using at the moment. And not mentioned here or from a cursory glance at the discussion referred to above.

Honestly, I think a complete list is rather long, even if not every app has it.

    Gestrument

    TC-Data
    Changeling

    Animoog
    Cubasis

    Copy-paster!!!

  • Thor actually has the nicest onscreen keyboard because it's adjustable. And it has midi out.

I'll add links later when I finish all my recording sessions. :p

    Midi mind
    Koushion
    Auxy
    Music Studio
    Genome
    Little midi machine.
    Firo
    Midi generator
    Spectre

Might be quicker to make a list of those that don't.....

  • I for example wouldn't list synth with rather basic midi output such as notes, modwheel, pitchbend or arp unless it is deep as cream is, speaking about arps, and more in general anything that won't add some salt to the midi thing. Animoog with poly AT should fall in the list.

  • A great sugestion. Unfortunately it's out of my reach to make such a selection.

  • Nobody mentioned Guitarism yet?!

    Thanksguysthanksguysthanksguys!

There are a ton of apps that can generate MIDI. From my stable, there's Live Guitar, MIDImorphosis, Double Decker, Nice To Be Your Friend Synth, Apollo MIDI over Bluetooth, Apollo Motion MIDI Controller, Voxkit.... And the stomp box things, Sidecar, FCBFF, Stompwatch. Infinite Looper will make an appearance soon, too (feature creep on that, but I think it's good feature creep). It sort of freaks me out how many apps I've made, but all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

  • Don't forget Chordup! Shaping up to be a real contender in the "simple note performance midi" category.
