Hello- I made this vid almost a year ago, but it shows how the akai EIE solved all of my connection issues. I am also using a behringer Dj mixer similar to what you were looking at.
If you want to be able to selectively feed your looper and/or the iPad with your inputs try to find a mixer with either aux sends or independently addressable bus outputs. With that setup, you can send individual channels to your looper, bring your looper back into your mixer and send the whole thing out of the main outs to your PA or buddy's 4 track. Just make sure the looper channel isn't being sent to the same aux or bus out! Or do.
