Does the Novation Impulse keyboard "play" with iOS?
Hi, I'd like to buy a 49-key midi controller to use with a variety o

Er.... Something went wrong there! I can't seem to edit my post either... Was going to say, to use with a variety of synth apps on my iPad Air / Air 2 (iGrand, Synthmaster Player etc). I can't seem to find any this size that take power from the iPad without issues and am looking for something inexpensive but that feels more piano-like than synth-like as my partner is a piano player. The new Novation Launchkey Mk 2s draw too much power it seems, so I thought the Impulse 49 would be best for our needs. Only problem is, the USB interface is both for powering the keyboard and USB Midi, and the manual recommends against using a USB hub for connections, so how do I power it while connecting to iPad via a CCK? Does anyone have this setup?
I really would like a simple connection setup, no midi/audio interface involved. Although I like the look of the Zivix Puc+ Bluetooth/midi device for wireless midi (and being able to charge the iPad!) I again can't see how to power the keyboard and use USB midi...
Thank you for any advice!
I don't know about the Impulse but I have the M-Audio Keystation 49es, Korg nanokontrol V1, and a Novation LaunchControl connected to an unpowered hub which connects to my Air 2 via CCK.
