Does Anybody Know of an XY controller Like the ikaossilator but Midi only???
or even if it has sounds but has midi out I could still use it to control other apps, Not fx apps though I'm looking for an xy controller to play midi notes etc...
Comments
Most of the MIDI controller apps I would have thought. I know Lemur can do this but it is kind of pricey. Maybe owners of the other ones can say?
Oh yes, TC-DATA maybe too?
thanks, actually those are the only two I know of... I would have thought there would be allot of them too, would be great to use the whole iPad screen for xy notation, being able to flip through a bunch of scales, chords, fingering types etc...
TouchOSC can do this and is not expensive at all
really, will look it up
TB Midi Stuff has XY pads too. Probably every make-your-own-controller app has them now.
MIDI Studio Pro:

(Edit) actually, scrap that, not sure you can use it Kaos Style to play scales. Sorry.
It's a bit of a stretch from what you described, but Gestrument does some interesting XY stuff and exports MIDI.
If you happen to have a Nanopad2 lying around, that'll do it
Thumbjam.
That will play any scale, full screen, accross the x axis.
Then you can send midi cc 10 on the y axis (the centre being 0) by enabling pan. You can then map cc10 to whatever parameter you like on your synth.
Or, design something in TC-Data that does the same (but you need to programme in you desired scale - making it a bit more tricky).
MidiMe notes and channels and CCs and can record and remember your settings and performances. Or you can use it like Lemur and bounce balls.
Can you set up touch osc to be just a giant xy kaossilator with pitch as x and y as whatever? I did some looking and couldn't find a screenshot of that. That's probably all I would use it for.
