I heard this works as well. Hope it isn’t app specific. Seems like it would be an OS capability, and not app specific.
No. Well, not unless I pay for that extra hotspot service with my carrier.
It works fantastic at home on my own WiFi network. There must be some security settings in place on this public WiFi network that’s preventing me from connecting my iPhone to the iPad via public WiFi. Or, there’s something in Audreio that’s seeing this as an internet streaming scenario.
@skiphunt Just wondering, are you just chillin’ at Starbucks, or are you trying to setup for a gig at an Indie Coffeehouse? If it’s the gig option, why not just get the real WIFI password for this place. If you explain your situation, I’m sure they would help you out.
No, just screwing around. It’s Starbucks too, so I’m sure there’s extra network security to help guard against hackers getting into your device.
I’m basically trying to run a mini shotgun video mic through my iPhone, using Audreio into my iPad on one channel in AUM, while running a second ambient stereo mic into this little mixer, as well as a small shortwave radio in my mixer AUX port into a second AUM channel.
I’m trying to do it this way because of the nature of this little Rode video mic, I have no other way to monitor it and it’s gotta be connected directly to an iOS device in order to work. It won’t work connected to the mixer because it gets its plugin power from the iOS device.
This doesn’t have to work this way. I’ve got another lpowered shotgun mic at home that I could plug into the mixer and not use the Audreio setup at all, but it’s at home and this setup is a little more discreet than my larger powered shotgun mic would be.
