So the loops are all MIDI-so you can combine them with any kit (and from Cubasis, external kits as well) ?

Have they been recorded from a real, four-limbed drummer on a MIDIed-up kit or were they programmed piano-roll style (with possible 'extra hands/feet' - which is what one effectively would get by adding extra accents as shown in the vid too) ?
Are there extra functions such as (slight) randomization of velocities and/or timing, swing etc.?
    The possibilities do seem endless!

Yes, extra hands and feet as in a whole rhythm section would be great! Allman Brothers/ Dead jams.. Sign me up for that aspect!

Question: are the drum kits set up in GM mapping format? this would rock for me as I have tons of midi drum clips and really love the drop and drag interface. I really hope one can have GM midi mapping format or at least move around user kits.

  • That video looks really good. Of course it will boil down to the sound, but the editing and simplicity of it is very good.
    Great use of a tablet.

most of the hocus pocus you'll see and hear is Grandma's secret recipe...which we can't give out...nothing too crazy that a normal person wouldn't be able to play in real life. Our midi map is custom...with a little tweaking, you could probably use some other kits from other apps. Some sound a little funky but others sound ok...I still prefer my kits to anything else...but that's just me ;) The only thing I use accents for is when I want to throw a cymbal crash in when needed or something similar. The velocities are not set at one volume in the loops...they have a "real feel" to them...you can see the changes when you examine them in piano roll. These can be changed manually. You can have different bpm and timings throughout the same track

  • @DerekBuddemeyer Thanks, just what I wanted to know! Looking forward to this!

  • @DerekBuddemeyer GM mapping possible for user kits?

Not at the moment. GM mapping is so weird...I don't even know why they have half the sounds assigned to the notes.... not saying no...but not saying yes either

No worries, I still will be buying app as it is awesome!

But a way to move or create user kits in a custom mapping format would rock!
    Any chance of that?

You can reassign samples and midi notes...so user loops are a possibility to import via iTunes file sharing

  • For the first time, drum session must finally be there.

I have to say I'm impressed that your grandmother programs drum beats! ;)

The picture is from the drum session Facebook page . I am already to download here. I keep thinking this reminds me of something really good from last year I was waiting to be released and it kept getting postponed for a week or better. :s I really hope it makes it out before the weekend.

  • I've been really good and only bought one app on sale for 99cents so far while I wait.

  • Are we almost there yet?

    @Tritonman Having fun? :D

My fingers are getting worn out. :D
But I have to do something while I am waiting.
I do not want to spend my money for this on app sales.

  • I know. My phone is draining because I reload the forum every 10 mins. It would be so awesome to get this this evening (it's 7pm here in Denmark) so Derek's gotta hurry
