Ableton code?
My kid nephew's Ableton code expired that I gave him and I feel real bad. I gave away all other codes I had from various pieces or hardware I bought.
If anyone has a code, can you please PM it to me?
Thanks so much for your kindness in advance.

If you haven't got one yet I've got one in my novation circuit that im waiting to be returned from doa repair, as soon as I get it back I will send it on to you if no one else gets you a code by then
Thank so much
I am the reason he is into music so it is kind of my responsibility to make sure he is equipt'd
How is your circuit minus the problem of course?
Until now, all I use is Novation really on MIDI stuff. Not that I haven't TRIED many brands, but I find Novation Launchkey and Launchpad products to be the best on the market.
ESPECIALLY for IOS integration.
i just found a live lite 4 code in a desk, no idea if it's used (I may have sent it to a friend at some point), but if redeemed it should just unlock the latest live lite version. Otherwise I'll send you a code when my circuit gets back. Circuit is really cool, built well but there's always ones that aren't built right with mass produced electronics. I just got a dodge one this time, but all other novation gear I've ever bought has been very good
I pm'd you the key
My son is interested in getting into Live and has downloaded the 30 day trial. What's the difference between Live Lite and the Intro version ($99)?
this is live lite https://www.ableton.com/en/products/live-lite/features/
and you can compare it with intro and the rest https://www.ableton.com/en/live/feature-comparison/
i use lite 9 and i have no problems with 8 tracks total. simpler and drum racks are wicked awesome. i can send midi from live lite to my ipad [with midile] without issue for example [in case you thought it was too limited]
so if your son has no problems with 8 tracks [instead of the 16 intro has, which i believe is the only difference? check the features i say, me too lazy] then i say try to get lite. also, do a search for freeware vst/au synths, lots of amazing ones out there [compared to say back in the mid 2000s]
This is really helpful, thanks. I use the full version of Live so I can help him with VSTs and AUs. I also use Link regularly, so easy enough to sync it all together... Just didn't know the purpose of Lite vs Intro. I now see that Lite looks like it ships with hardware in some cases?
if you have gadget, you get a code. sometimes audio interfaces will have one too [depending the brand or model i guess, i know live lite 4 was all over the place] . i got mine from using an old live lite 4 serial on ableton's website. i have gadget and they gave me a serial too, but i gave it to a friend.
their push controller comes with lite as well, that way you can use it out of the box so to say [since thats the point of push, right? dont know much about it to be honest]
I got one 'Ableton Lite' code with the Korg Electribe 2 and yes, installing Gadget is a safe way to get a Lite-License too. Don't know if there is a limit on Lite-Licenses per E-Mail though...
Ah, OK, very helpful. Thx.
I don't have Gadget and I don't have an interface that came with Lite. I'll be on the lookout for one and if anyone has an unused one that they'd like to donate to an aspiring 16-year-old electronic musician, I'd be much obliged.
Yes, Lite is the version that they give away with a lot of controllers, apps, and what not. Definitely good enough for getting started with.
