Clara Rockmore is the all-time great for Theremin:
she's amazing. played the piano with just 3 years, a year later she became the youngest ever violin student of the St. Petersburg Conservatory. after some time she couldn't play the violin anymore because of an unbearable pain in her arm.
the theremin enabled her to make music again. and she had Theremin (the man) build her a model that was controllable very precisely and had reversed poles so that she could make a vibrato with her left hand like on the violin.
and I think she had a great character too from the stories told by her or about her by others. and she was gorgeous of course.
