Android for MIDI controller

We are often painfully reminded that Android is nowhere close to iOS for music. That makes me wonder what we should do with our old android tablets. And MIDI control is what first comes to mind.

What I really want to know is if anyone is successfully using an Android device as a MIDI controller for their iOS music. Is MIDI over wifi stable between Android and iOS? How is the latency over wifi? What MIDI apps are available on Andriod? How is Lemur on Android?

Lots of questions, I just haven't heard much even though it seems like there is potential here.

  • Try the free version of TouchDAW on Android to see how it works for you?

  • Is there no one else out there doing this? I'll definitely try out TouchDAW, but I thought there would be others who have experience with Android and MIDI.
