I appreciate Gilbert trying to help Reid which in turn helps us all...there are tons of great apps for us music producers on iOS but not all of the devs of those apps are as thorough or helpful as Marinus & Gilbert. Rim from Auria Pro and a few others come to mind as well, it's not the norm, so those devs are entirely appreciated.
DrumPerfect Pro is my favorite drum app, use it very frequently. I have experienced the same things Reid talks about and know it can be irritating. However I have never had DPP erase anything I have made, song-kit-pattern, etc. If it has cleared the pattern list the next time I'm on it the patterns are not erased, just inside the seletion menu where I have to load then back in. It's not ideal but at least I have the work.
I will try some of Gilbert's techniques and see if they can work on my setups, thanks to everyone who assisted in getting some solutions down.
It would be great if AB Remote was implemented. Not just stop/start, but like Patterning does it. Love teaming those two drum apps together via Link. But the only way to change patterns in DPP is to open up the app itself, which can be troublesome if running a number of apps together. Where as Patterning can be tiggered from AB Remote. I'm sure you get what I mean. Any chance of this being added Gilbert/Marinus?
Obviously DPP already shows up in AB Remote, but only for stop/start. It's pattern changing/triggering that would be really useful.
Thanks for all your help and input Gilbert.
100000000000 % yes! Please?
I didn't see this post and I asks the same thing in another thread.
With 2 of us on board, I'm sure that'll be implemented by the weekend.
LoL!!! I needed this made my day man!
I think we all could help DPP by leaving awesome reviews at the App store as reviews get reset with every update I heard.
Anyway just had AUM, iSem (2 instances) and DPP running and pure awe!!!!
I just started really reading this thread and am I ever intrigued.
As of last night, my IAP Break Beat has error message and will not reinstall?
Anyone else have this?
Fascinated about the sample breakdown.
Not sure if I am disappointed or just relieved to have some info to work with
HAS OP CHECKED THE SAME INFO OF SAMPLES FROM DRUM PERFECT 1(orig)?
HAS D P PRO RECYCLED DRUM PERFECT SAMPLES?
Are the original sample file in Drum Perf. of higher quality then?
Just quoting myself to see if I can get Gilbert's attention regarding AB Remote.
As a user of both DPP and ABremote I join you completely in the wish for an extensive way to pilote DPP from ABR. There are many things on the list, but Marinus will probably give some priority to this functionality.
We have listened. Meanwhile...
Awesome!!!! Thanks!
What a guy. If you do this I will weep with joy. Please make it so.
I've been working on my first DrumPerfect Pro video, which will be about my favorite things about the app. Not a tutorial, really, just something to show people why I think they should get it.
But I will be knocking out real tutorials after that. It's been slow going because I've been working out how I'm actually going to make them. I don't want to do them "SoundTest Room," style, because: 1) I discovered that what they do is really hard; 2) I don't have a camera setup; and 3) I want to be able to revise them later if I give incorrect advice or there are improvements to the software.
Really looking forward to seeing these. Keep us posted.
Yeah, these videos going to rock!
Here's my first video, finally. It's not really a tutorial, although you may learn a thing or two from it. It's about my 5 Favorite Things About DrumPerfect Pro.
It took me awhile because there were a lot of false starts while I figured out how I was going to do it.
Anyway, now that I know what I'm doing, I will be be making some DPP videos that are more instructive.

Excelent job, sir. Very useful. Thanks for sharing.
Reid, that's great. I was confused most of the time (nothing new etc), but you convey the possibilities of the product and your own passion for it, well done.
Convinced that you must have done the vocal for #3 late at night or when others close by were sleeping. Your voice, while still perfectly understadable, dropped down with a conspiratorial hush
Your style is clear (Love the Monty Puthon Finger
) and I would love to watch a 'Top Ten Things To Know From The Getgo' or similar.
Anyway, congrats, good effort.
@fjcblanco Thank you!
@JohnnyGoodyear You got that right. The video was done over many different days and in many different ways. The next one should be better.
It's ok that you were confused, because I didn't really begin teaching it yet. It is more of a "look what it can do" type video. But my hope is that somebody who doesn't have it will buy it. We gotta support the developers so that they have a reason to do updates.
The video was very informative - thanks for posting it.
Thanks @Reid this is invaluable & I look forward to seeing your future vids. Kudos sir.
Very well done @Reid. Picked up a few things...specifically on the long press for A/B velocities and pushing up on the beat for the samples.
From now on I think I'll do really short ones, maybe a minute and a half. Teach some basic thing and move on. The next one will be about the various pages. Then I'll start a series where I make beats. If I do this, I can knock them out faster. I'll do what Richard does and assemble all the links in the first post.
The reality is that this program is filled with too many easter eggs: buttons that do an additional thing when you long press them, stuff that's invisible unless you read the manual, etc.
Even the help button isn't a question mark or a gear symbol. ?????
Great video and explanations. Please keep them coming, these are really helpful. Thanks.
Think this is a great idea. More manageable at your end and also between the ears out here in the world...
Thanks Reid. That video was spot on. Loved your style. Thanks for sharing it with us all.
Here's my second video, or more precisely, tutorial #1. Again, there's not much instruction in this one so don't worry if it goes too fast. I just wanted to quickly show all the pages that the app has. In building patterns you have to go from page to page, so I wanted to show the lay of the land.
The next video will be when this gets interesting, and I hope... more helpful.

Brilliant and a nicely dry (and funny) delivery
Nothing like as intimidated as I was and am sitting back on the couch with a mug of tea, a bag of cookies and nothing more to do than wait to get down in the detailed weeds.
Great videos, truly a resource for DP pro fans and those on the fence. This app is truly awesome, just needs some taming and you got yourself a powerful mustang.
Thanks for the videos. I love DP Pro but still discovering new features. Looking forward to the upcoming tutorials. Cheers
Here's Tutorial # 2

Awesome!
