Please relay the best tips back to us here. I'm Faceless.
It's not limited to tips & tricks, it's much more like a discussion on this forum. People are also putting up their musical creations and video walkthroughs. Jonatan Liljedahl is very active on it, so there is a lot of news on what is coming up in the future. But most of that stuff has been mentioned here, like MIDI filtering. Please excuse me if I put anything here that has already been mentioned.
I didn't know what the AU in AUFX and AUM came from. I assumed Audio Units. In fact, per JL:
"AU was for AUdio, but Au is also "gold" in the physics table, but for AUM it was also a reference to AudioUnit. And even with AUFX, from the coding point of view also an IAA node is an AudioUnit (but not an AudioUnit Extension, which is new for iOS 9)"
Here's a video Jim McLaren created about setting up an iPad Keyboard rig with AUM:

Here's one from Brian Kupferschmid

Tip: Browsing presets in iSEM, Viking Synth or other AU source, you can preview sounds while you browse.
First, open the keybpard and be sure it is routed to the AU input device.
Select the "infinity symbol" (Hold) key at right, and press any key. iT should stay activated.
Next, open the AU device (in my case, Viking Synth) and select "PRESET". A scrolling menu of presets should open.
As you scroll, you can now preview presets by selecting them, without leaving the preset menu.
Note that this will produce sustained tones unless you are using an arpeggiator. (Group founder Ayebalee Jackson)
Tip: All navigation controllers in AUM allow you to go back to previous view simply by swiping anywhere in the content. No need to reach for that Back button. Makes it a lot faster to browse nodes, files, etc! (from JL)_
Tip: You can tap and drag the transport time display to locate to anywhere in the timeline. Great when having long non-looping files loaded in the file players! (JL)_
Most of what I've found on here is familiar to me because I have spent a lot of time on AUM. But there are good ideas and I expect there will be more.
Thanks a lot @Reid .
@DeVlaeminck Sure.
AUM Tip For Audiobus remote users from Oscar South Bass:
Don't you hate having your remote triggers become microscopic when all the extra input/controller/effects apps mounted in audiobus are added arbitrarily to Audiobus Remote? To make it worse, Audiobus Remote becomes glitchy and unreliable when triggers for too many apps are loaded. Unload apps where Remote Triggers are not needed to AUM, allocate any controls needed inside those apps to an external controller and forget about them!
(I wouldn't put it exactly this way as I don't want to be rude to my beloved audiobus on its own forum, but I do think we will be discovering new ways that Audiobus, AUM, and other apps like Midiflow and Studiomux can work together and create new possibilities)
From Pierre Tricoire:
Route midi from AUM keyboard to thumbjam (loaded in a channel so you can save in AUM), go in thumbjam midi control settings, tick input scale lock/white key only/enable thru mode; set an unusual scale, go back in the AUM midi matrix, send thumbjam midi out to another iOS synth, play the white keys of AUM keyboard (or of an external midi controller) and enjoy !
You'll sometimes need to tweak you synth midi settings so that your external keyboard doesn't send directly to it.
Let's say things how they are, however
All brilliant apps, made even better by working together to enhance their strengths and sidestep their weaknesses.
The next update of Audiobus Remote will fix glitches with triggers. But definitely contact us via the support portal if you find bugs.
The update should hit the store some time in the next two weeks.
I'm glad to hear this, thanks for the update. It will be a huge boost to a vital app. I have two further suggestions both based on balancing functionality with usability in a live setting:
Great suggestions. We're most likely going to look at them and possibly integrate them after we release Audiobus 3 later this year. I've added them to the feature requests list.
Brilliant, thanks and looking forward to Audiobus 3!!!
Feature request (seemingly small but important one in the right situation)
Selectable 48/24 audio settings! Not important for live use, but definitely useful in the studio
Thanks Mister @Reid, I am also largely off my face(book), so this is helpful.
@JohnnyGoodyear Honored to be of any service to the Wit Laureate of the AB forum. I enjoy your music too.
This tip is from me:
I've been using AUM to rough out the arrangements of my songs and then go to Auria Pro to do the recording. So I appreciate that I can save a Note in my files, which is a feature I've always wanted to have in Auria. Also you can save the BPM, which is essential, because AUM will otherwise open up at 120. Finally, I don't know if everybody realizes you can rename the tracks, something that pays off when you are working with a lot of audio files.
I don't know if anyone's paying attention to this thread, but I find the metronome very loud. Would be lovely if when set (I have it at 10) it then remained there when re-opened...
Sigh....now I know while she calls Mister Two-Times.
It's saved in the session, but good idea to also remember the last setting for the initial default.
Is someone of you part of this FB group and can invite me please? Got no luck so far.
Did you click to join, but no one appoved?
@senhorlampada - Exactly, no one approved for weeks.
I didn't know the group. When I asked you here, I tried joining. No one approved yet too. I know two of the admins. What's your name on FB? Gonna ask them to approve us
btw, one of them has been absent from most music groups lately. Maybe got burnout
@senhorlampada - Sent you a PM. Thanks!
