@syrupcore I can't cope. There are just too many apps out there! Heaven knows where I was when all this iPad music stuff started, think I must've had my head firmly up my rear end. I only bought an iPad three weeks ago so these discoveries are a bit like unearthing the missing link for me. Flabbergasted of Somerset here.
Still I don't think I've done too badly, I've actually heard and looked at most of the apps mentioned and haven't yet been totally confounded by any I've installed. The only one you mention I already have is Chordion, really enjoyed that one and even managed to MIDI assign different sound sources to each half of the interface, what made me lose heart with it though was the fact that there was no octave control so obtaining realistic sounds was a bit hit and miss. Definitely heard of the other two you mention pretty unaware of their control surfaces though so I'll have to do a bit more investigating. Got my eye on Geo Synthesizer at the moment, will this never end....feel free not to answer that!
Way too late for that, app hunting is now my favourite pastime bar none!
You could say I'd be up sh*t creek without an iPaddle! (see what I did there?)
Firo is an app with a great dev who decided he couldn't really make it work as well as he hoped commercially and let it go free (I believe) to encourage scholastic use. Good tip jar candidate.
@JohnnyGoodyear I've been looking at Firo for the past hour or so and also watching a question and answer session the developer held on YouTube in 2014 (which was unfortunately filmed underwater by the looks of it) but wow, what an amazing piece of software, I've already got hideously lost with the relevance of all the different colours etc, it's just so in depth. The app itself does so very much whilst educating at the same time, hell, even the help file is beautifully put together, I just wish it was on a bigger screen or perhaps that you could separate and focus on sections of it. Totally astounding work though, perhaps not what I'm looking for in the way of a recording tool but definitely something I'll be going back to time and time again, so very pleased I found it, thank you kindly for the heads up.
