Abstracted keyboard app (like Thumbjam) that can send MIDI CC's with y-axis?

Hey all,

I'm curious if there's an app like ThumbJam that allows MIDI CC to be sent as you move up and down on the keys. Or, can you do this with ThumbJam?

Thanks for any input :]

  • ThumbJam pans left and right as you move up and down the "height" of the keys.

I thought you can map the Y-axis in TJ to whatever - not just volume...

Maybe look into Magellan? You can set up the Y-axis to modulate whatever (cutoff for example) - but I'm not 100% sure if it sends out midi CC.

  • Can't think of any that have user selectable CCs that are not already sending to their own synth.

Would be nice to have one with up to 3 key ranges as per TJ, but with midi knobs and sliders above the keys :)

  • It depends on what the controls are set to, and what CC options are turned on in the prefs. If x-axis is pan, then it will send CC10 for what you want. If volume is Xaxis it can send cc7 or channel pressure depending on what is enabled in prefs.

  • we need more abstracted keyboard apps period.

  • TC-Data by Bit Shape and some routing

Yessss, thank you thank you! This made me realize I can use MidiFlow to just change CC10 to the CC I need. Awesome :]

And @sonosaurus, thanks for the great app  / One more question, is there a way to hide the preset name and routing text in the middle of the app?

  • Also, Animoog MIDI Out IAP.

No, there isn't a way to hide that stuff, sorry!

And thanks for your apps too!

No worries, after playing with it for the last hour, I'm already ok with it :]

And thanks for your apps too!

Yes I love that combo! You can also "Scale lock" ! Even with different scales per-playhead !
    :D
I'm highjacking the discussion to ask if one day thumbjam (if updated with link) will have some kind of quantize or arpegiator?

Also, @Alexandernaut will Arpeggionome will be updated with link ?

Thank you both of you again for those incredible apps, they are in my top ten, and in the first row of my midi controller folder

    Thanks for your answer !

Also cool video ! I never used thumbjam to send CCs (I had a feeling it would do it, it does almost everything) I have more experiments to do!
