Favorite "virtual", "imaginary" skeuomorphic synths and apps?

There is an interesting discussion starting on Twitter:

I mention korg gadget, and for fun I will throw out sunrizer , and for fun, earhoof

What are your favorite skeuomorphic apps and synths on the iPad?

Comments

  • Thor, Magellan, Galileo, Animoog, NLogPro, ...

  • What about some of the ports? I think they're pretty well done... imini... iprophet...

  • iVCS3, iMS-20, iPolysix, iSEM, iMini, iProphet, Sunrizer, Modular, Auria Pro's mixer (the older Auria more so), BIAS, iFretless Bass, Guitarism, DrumStudio, (several other drum apps as well).

  • iVCS3. Beautiful.

  • iVCS is the most impressive. Animoog second.

And throwing it out there as perhaps the prime example of skeumorphic design...Peter Vogel's CMI Fairlight app.

  • iSem. Hands down.

  • Nave. is even 3D

  • No love for Korg poly6?

  • iMS-20 and Filtatron

    Of course!

in this order: iSem,iPolysix,iMini...does iSpark count(?)...gadget,garageband,Thor,Sunrizer...filtatron.

iVCS3 looks beautiful but the sound and handling was just not my cup of tea. That was the only app i ever refunded just because i didn't liked it.But there were a couple f updates since then, maybe i'll give it another shot someday.

  • Cyclop, Nave, iElectribe for iPhone,

  • Would have mentioned those emulations too but I thought the request was for "imaginary" and tose are "real".

    Vox 3000.

(...the only Retronyms app which still works after many years even without updates)

  • How about an app so all inclusive in its wonderful abilities that everyone would just disappear and go make music with it.

    I'd miss you, though. :-)

I was thinking of the fairlight app as well. I just wish it wasn't $50 for the whole thing with sequencer/sampler/a few extra sounds.

You might not be able to without creating an different Apple ID! I tried to re-puchase ZMors modular recently and was prevented from doing so by the store.

Yeah, I hate having a ton of credit in the store knowing I've already spent the money as opposed to buying in the moment. Still, I would say I've almost gotten my money out of it, despite only using the sequencer for historical/academic purposes. If it didn't have MIDI in though, that'd be another story.

  • DM1 should deserve special mention as it won an Apple design award on IOS 6 ;
just before Jonny Ive read that month's Vogue & decided flat & pastel was the new new & skeumorphism was dead for IOS7 .

  • Yep, Cyclop. That's some crazy interface.

I also really like the grit on the UI of FM4.

  • TC-11 is awesome.

I’ve never used a real one, though.
