Audio Artifacts-Help!

Hi Guys,
I could use some help/advice. I am running my M-Audio Code 61 into a Novation 2 x 4 audio hub into my iPad. Recently I have been getting some 'crackling' audio glitches that I can't troubleshoot. It happens sporadically and I've noticed it more while running several apps, but it also has happened while just using iGrand Piano alone. Any thoughts or suggestions as to what might be causing this? Also, would changing latency help this? I have latency on iGrand set to low currently, it looks like the only other option is ultra-low which wouldn't help, I don't think.....
Thanks in advance for any insights.

*Also, I have followed all of the troubleshooting tips for my iPad listed in another thread here.

  • Thanks @CalCutta. I'm really not having any issues with latency just wondered if latency settings were part of the audio problems I'm having. I can't figure out what the noise is exactly.

  • What you described sounds like the exact issue folks are reporting with iOS9 and an audio interface. I know there have been varying reports of latency issues (with my setup for instance using an iPad Air 1 and an iConnect Audio4+, I usually have the latency issues after a few minutes of use). I'm guessing that if 9.3 truly fixes the issue in the linked thread, you should be good to go

I'm still on 8.4. My issue is a sort of hissing/crackling noise, not having any latency with my rig. I suppose it could even be a hardware issue but the noise sounds 'electronic' if that makes any sense :s . Anyone out there using the Novation 2x4 audio hub?

  • Checked the cables?

I did, I switched them all out... Although I don't have an extra power supply, I wonder if that could be the culprit...
