  • I'll be updating a mini 2 fairly quickly to test.

    Per the Apple Store:

"Add even greater capability and versatility to your iPad Pro by powering the Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter with a USB Power Adapter. Then you can connect USB peripherals like hubs, Ethernet adapters, audio/MIDI interfaces, and card readers for CompactFlash, SD, microSD, and more."

    • No mention of powering the iPad when using the power adapter and the wording implies that this accessory is for iPad Pro.

Scroll down a little bit to the compatibility section. ;)

  • Scratch the compatibility question. I didn't scroll down far enough to see the compatibility list. All Lightning-equipped iPads are OK.

Heh - yup I caught my error same time you did. I tried waiting in their chat queue to ask a specialist if the adapter charges the iPad when it's used with the power adapter, but the wait is looong, as expected.

  • Started a new thread about the USB 3 connector... very interesting to me

  • Does the new iPad pro still have 4 gig of RAM?

    those prices... :/

    +1

  • OH NO, the RAM, we'll have to wait for iFixit to know for sure. If it is 4GB then this may arguably be more powerful than the 12.9 iPad Pro. (same innards, less pixels to process on the screen).

I was actually very happy to hear that they did not give it a 4k screen. They must have learned their lesson from iPad 3.

I sure hope so. I want AU on my iPad, but I'm stuck on iOS 8.4 until Apple fixes audio problems.

Also... the event is an overall bore 30 minutes in. CareKit and AppleTV. meh. Show me the new hardware! ;-)

I am relying on you and will (inevitably) hold you personally responsible if my world isn't more shiny and full of hope in another hour or two...

Geez that sounds like my kind of offer.
