Hey this is cool! Very glad I bought it. Thank you!
Wondering why there couldn't be a preset text box in the top space that could be tapped for drop down preset list rather than opening the menu at side then hitting the folder icon, then selecting preset?
Also would display the current preset.
Other than that I love it
You can just leave the menu open. Then presets are one tap away like you describe.
Looks like someone else was looking for the background audio setting. See the second comment here: http://www.synthtopia.com/content/2016/03/24/shape-synth-4-updated-with-ableton-link-expanded-synthesis-capabilities/
i guess these days we take features like background audio for granted! like someone wrote above, it works with audiobus by having it on the input. crazy how that never ocurred to me.
@Redo1 Cheers, sounds like a good idea, will definitely give it some thought.
@syrupcore @perestroika My reasoning behind doing background audio this way was that some users have complained about my apps draining their battery by just closing the app without manually closing them in the multitask view. I guess if you don't know about background audio, that can easily happen. I think a toggle is the best option though as you have suggested already.
Cheers

I haven't exactly got the hang of the tale looper & sequencer in this app, but so far I'm really digging this big time!
Like all 4 of the the humbletune apps I have. I only bought Shapesynth about 3hrs ago and it's quickly becoming my fave from this dev.
@humbletune when Shape Synth is loaded into AUM, the user gets an AUM icon in Shape Synth. You can also expand out the AUM icon in Shape Synth for AUM play controls. It's hard to hit just the right spot on an iPhone to expand it, but it's doable. Could be a little bigger spot though, because it can be frustrating continually going back to AUM when all you want to do is expand the player controls.
I have a question about these controls though. I see there's a circle for "record' and a play/pause button, But there's a 3rd control to the left that looks like sideways T. Is that a freeze button? It seems to pause temporarily then continue play. Wasn't quite sure what it is or what it's for?
Anyone else know the answer to my question above?
Hi @skiphunt, yeah I know the it is a bit small that button. Just didn't want to take up too much space, will have another thank about how to make that better.
The inter app audio protocol describes three buttons, rec, play/pause and a button they call rewind. From what I have seen in most cases rewind resets the timeline of a playing audio track or file. I think it is pretty much up to the host to do what they want though.

Didn't realize this! Thought it was just the icon. Will swipe about a bit on it. Cheers!
Ahh! That's what it is! I had a very short clip playing so I didn't notice it was actually a rewind.
The expansion is cool & I love your minimalist uncluttered interface design. The target on the player expand just needs to be slightly bigger for smaller phone screens. Easy to hit on iPad though.
You have any fresh apps baking in the oven?
@skiphunt Definitely, a bit bigger or something. I've spent the last couple of months working on frekvens and shape synth, and not had much time for other projects. But I have some things I know I want to try and experiment with.
Then I also want to work on adding link to my apps and explore the possibilities of audio unit extensions. We'll see how far I get with everything. It's hard to find time to do it all sometimes.
Cheers

I hear ya.
regarding the expand tab... it's perfectly big enough on the ipad as I said, but I think if you just doubled that little extra tab's width, it'd still look good/uncluttered on the ipad and would provide just that little bit more that's needed to hit it on an iphone.
cheers, and looking forward to whatever else you come up with
