Did anyone try airplay through Airport Express?
How about the latency?
Recently I bought a bluetooth audio receiver, but it was a disappointment. The latency was too high. Good for game, though.
I don't really understand how Airport Express transmit signal, by bluetooth or wifi?

wireless networking
@logictree the airport express, at least the two models i have from 2010 and 2011, just use wifi to stream audio since they don't have bluetooth chips in them. i've only ever used them to stream my iTunes library to my kitchen or my room if i have guests or a date over.
i just did a test with garage band, the only app that i knew could do airplay, outputting to my express in my room and it sucked. it's not peer to peer as far as i know, but i was two feet away from it and one room away from the airport extreme. trying to play the software keyboard to a drum beat was a few seconds off, trying to plug my guitar in through the lightning port popped up a little warning that audio input had been disabled in airplay mode. i didn't bother using my midi keyboard, but i'm guessing there would be some latency as well.
if there was a certain app you where wondering about let me know. if there is a free version i can test it out with audio in or midi in if it helps you.
Thanks @protomike. That helps lot.
As you mentioned, there is an app I like you to test for me. Soundcloud for iPad.
no problem. soundcloud for iPad works over airplay, but there is a two second or so delay from hitting the play button and when you actually hear the audio. i got the same results using my 4s. personally i use both of mine to extend my wireless network and occasionally stream music when i'm cooking or have people over.
Nice. Thanks @protomike.
