Has anyone used this Hercules tablet holder?
I'm looking for something on an arm that I can put in any position in space and lock it.
This gets rave reviews, but there aren't many:
I'd like to clamp it to a table and/or a keyboard stand.... but more like a table.
There's also this video:
Finally, to be clear, I DONT'T want a table stand that looks like a cookbook holder with a few different viewing angle.
Ideas?

Not cheap. All good.
Nice... and pricey! This beautiful baby's $152!

I bought the Hercules when I read that it clamps to mic stands OR desks.
Was looking at this a while ago. not sure it fits your needs, but....

Yeah, I have this one hooked on my desk in front of me. It's a beautiful thing and solid as a rock and would function well as a burglar beater if ever required.... (removing the iPad first of course...)
@johnfromberkeley, where did you purchase the hercules arm from? I'm in canada and had trouble finding it. just curious.
Well, if any of these would take a fully grown iPad (as in "old" 12.7) I'd be all game.
We'll see about that. For the first time, I'm considering getting an iPad pro 12 inch because I want the extra RAM

LOLZ. In case you need to compose in the kitchen!

Hey, I get a fair amount of stuff done in the kitchen. Cooking can hit the same sort of creative spot that jamming can (albeit different ) and -after all- when you live with a 13 year old there's a lot of eating going on so, well, kitchen.
I haven't tried this specific one but I use an ergotron arm with my cintiq and it is fantastic.

Wow, that looks awesome, but very pricey. More than three times as much as the Hercules. That said. I really like what you just showed me. It might be one of those things worth investing in. Also, if I need two, I could have one of each
Feel like they have the right idea here, it's just the wrong type of paper roll.
Perfect 100%! 7 out of 7
A friend of mine bought if for the wrong reasons: he only uses his iPad to display the lyrics of the songs he plays live, so he tried the Hercules, and didn't like it. Happens that he used the Hercules clamped to his mic stand and didn't find and angle that he could read the lyrics: the mic was always in the way, lol.
Update: I bought this, and I love it. It's very solid once it is locked. It allows you to position your iPad anywhere in space, and it's not going anywhere. The mechanism for holding the iPaid is very secure.
However, there is some "bounce". A finger drum could definitely get the ipad oscilating itself. However, it is still great for light playing, ChordPolyPad, Tc-11. etc. It's solid enough for anything activities that aren't truly kinetic.
I suspect there will be bounce with any arm. (Even if the arm is firm, how firm is the surface you're bolting it to?). Nonetheless, I may try the mega arm above, and from there, if you want a rock solid playing surface, you probably need a stand, not an arm.
