midi controller

I have no idea how to get my midi controller to work. I have tried it in neo-soul, thumb jam and beathawk. I'm using a Focusrite isolo dock and on the usb port in the back i plugged in a powered usb hub and plugged my 49 key controller into that. For instance in the Neo-soul app I went into the midi section and I see my dock listed but no sound. Can you please tell me how to get my controller to work?

Comments

  • Not familiar with isolo dock or Neo-soul, sorry. Might seem like an obvious thing but did you establish a midi channel on your controller and match it with the app? What controller do you have and which hub? Did you try plugging controller straight into iOS device?

  • Download a MIDI Monitor app to see if MIDI is getting into the iPad.

  • But even just plugged into the dock its not working but it should, is there some settings i need or should i just sent the controller back?

Maybe, but I'd probably try @bsantoro's suggestion first. If that didn't work, I'd probably ask Focusrite or the controller maker next. Is the midi controller you haven't named yet class compliant?
