  • "enjoyable app" for me boils down to an app being in that magic space of superb sound quality mixed with easily accessible visuals and controls. And there has to be a touch of creative use of iOS whether it's Bebot's fun full screen scales, or Animoog's silky but precise keybed. It has to have that little something that makes me feel like I'm at the helm of a spaceship, exploring new sonic territory.

Then again, this whole topic seems a bit silly, because we all have different musical endeavors that bring that full joy moment. Some people here are unsatisfied until a project is polished in Auria. I'm admittedly easily pleased by a few minutes in Bebot or a Loopy session with my acoustic. If I get near Auria it roars at me fiercely with its power and complexity and I just back away carefully.

And oddly... Samplr and Borderlands Granular type apps just don't do it for me.

    Totally agree.
But it is no instrument but innovative way to publish and experience music

  • Diode-108 Drum Machine is a bargain right now ($0,99 on sale).

  • If you have animoog and Mitosynth, you can make a helluva lot of noise in the blender
