iVCS3 as an Audiobus effect

As much as I love iVCS3, I still admit to being confounded by many of its "charms". I'm trying to use it tonight in the effect slot in Auduobus, running an arp from iMini. I have no idea how to do this.

Anyone give me some pointers on how to make this work? Right now my sound is being muted by iVCS3. Thanks.

  • On the back page, make sure your inputs 1 & 2 are switched to mic-sampler. You can mix the input and sampler with mix ch. 1&2. Knobs 1&2 all the way to the left will give you just the Audiobus input. Now on the front in the matrix, connect input channel 1&2 to the output 1&2. To keep it simple.....

  • Now you can experiment from there! Instead of connecting the input to the output, you could connect the inputs to the filter and connect the filter to the outputs, or connect filter to reverb and then reverb to outputs. Whatever's clever!

Knobs all the way to the left...I think that was my issue! Thanks!

just load the in-out preset bank and you are done ;)
lots of ringmodulator filter delay reverb madness

  • No problem!

Thanks @Bsteff21, that was my missing point too...

make sure you have the latest presets
go to manage presets and press the thing that looks like a piece of paper
you will be asked if you want to restore the factory banks, do this
    and have fun

  • By far the funnest synth to experiment with

This, I'm normally not a preset supporter but this app and iM1 are the exceptions.

  • it is, after years I am still finding new things where I think
oh I haven't done that, lets try :)

the presets are all done with love and easy to build on top to, I made them
its not a shame to use them,
    to fly this UFO

Vcs3 is unlike any other synth
thats why its so much fun :)

I won't lie, I've tried loading up the In/Out Spring Reverb preset, really look closely at everything (but not take a picture), then initialize a patch and try to recreate it...and failed miserably.

You've already done the leg work and I appreciate it! (esp. 'cause that reverb sounds fantastic as an external effect)

Did you notice you can choose from different reverbs (in settings)?
IR sounds best, but needs the most cpu
You can also choose between different models of ring modulation ... I like the diode

All the presets are top notch from all of you creators...
... one of the most fantastic synthesizers on iOS
PS, I was missing a lot of banks....thanks for telling me, I though they update automatically....

    You are welcome.

  • This is one app I'd gladly have paid more for. Wonderful legacy hardware recreation.
Love/hate relationship working it, though. :p
Cheers lala for heads-up on the presets!

I agree. Any hardcore "hardware-only" enthusiasts want to call an iPad a toy, I show them this app.
