Accessibility

I'd like every developer to take a step back and go the extra mile to integrate the accessibility stuff.

Why shouldn't you be able to express yourself just because you're a little different?
We are the creators of tools, we can make a difference.
It's not helpful if your app just says button or nothing (beep) with VoiceOver ...

If you have no one who is able to test if it really works get in contact with me.
btw. its not a bad idea to say in the app description this does support voice over
so people who need it don't have to ask around ...

btw. audiobus does support voice over,
    applause for @Michael & @Sebastian

  • Great thread lala.

  • +1. Bonus: building for accessibility usually means much easier language translation.

  • +1 you never know if you may need these features in the future.

  • Just watched the video. Bravo.

I've never seen misfortune packaged up, marketed and monetised so effectively. Well played, Apple. You good at captalism.

Joking aside, really inspirational and touching video. I hope that it and the accessibility features on iPad can improve some people's lives.

  • Accessibility is great for zooming in on gadget. Once you get the hang of it, it's pretty intuitive.

I use this heavily for AB remote. Great to have massive buttons when you're performing on an instrument while making changes. I wasn't going to to bring it up as this thread isn't really about that aspect of accessibility, but since we've gone there.. ;)

  • Actually, that is precisely what accessibility is about.

I thought that this was about Apple's masterfully made promotional video and general all round feel-good sentiment.
Never mind, go about your business ;)

Apple is the only one who cares
Take a look at what screen readers cost ...
It's free in iOS and comes with every device
This is not feel good marketing ;)
Apple cares, it's the right thing to do :)

    And it helps everyone
I am to lazy to read those 200 pages PDFs sometimes
So I let iOS read 'em to me :)
It also adjusts to the written language without user interaction, (German voice, English voice) fuck yeah :) thanks apple :)
Btw. This also means you can use iOS if you can't read ...
(They never say this loud, lol)
I think it's insanely great.
Tell me again that this is a "marketing joke".
    It's the future, baby.

    OS X can't do this ...
