Beyond its novelty, how are you finding it useful/productive compared to how we serfs back in black-and-white are still operating?
Not useful much, as not enough music apps using it.
Much more use now though. Try this one
Ooo and this
very nice!
Thumbjam was updated?
so am i correct in thinking my ipad mini retina with 9.3 cannot do this?
what is the ipad cutoff?
Air 2/Mini 4 and up
Hi @Fruitbat1919 can I ask if Thumbjam will do quarter screen (slide over)
Gives me an idea for sharing the screen with Gadget and then triggering patterns in ModStep on a second device.
Also requires iOS 9
TJ hasn't been updated yet, Fruitbat is a beta tester. Working on another handy feature now, an arpeggiator, which is pretty fun, thanks for making me do one out of guilt for the slow update cycle
Oops
What is that multicolored app in the first pic?
Different Drummer
Different drummer
Ooooh. That is nice!!!!! Thanks. Opens up lots of nice possibilities.
Question @sonosaurus or @Fruitbat1919 - what happens if you have two or three keyboards on TJ on and make it slide over? Does it retain the 3 keyboards? That would be so cool.
@sonsaurus - is there any chance of a few more cc options on the y axis for midi out play. I could only ever get cc10 on the y axis. Never anything else (unless I used iPad movement). Be nice to be able to have it send a few different CCs (and different ranges) as you move higher or lower on the keys.
Sorry! It's a fab midi keyboard.
Ok so I've two keyboards on here. You can just about squeeze 3 on.
Here I've also set a loop to play and muted it. Set TJ to send clock out to Gadget and now I can start the playback from TJ. Only works with Link off.
Damn.
Amazing. Thanks. Actually I'm thinking of not really using the keys as keys, but pad-type triggers that launch clips in ModStep (on another device) - allowing me to be in a different view in ModStep but still have full access to launch all clips.
@Matt_Fletcher_2000
Hmmm could be a very interesting setup
Bit bizarre I know . But I'd like to see if it works.
Only thing, @sonosaurus - I don't suppose there is a way to show a key in Thumbjam as 'held' is there? There seem like there's a few 'sustain' modes but I can't see there's any way of setting it so you switch 'hold' or 'sustain' on and any key stays (visually) down if pressed (sending a note on), or up if it's pressed again (sending a note off)?
Or I don't suppose there's any chance of an option for that?
Ah, there is a latched mode available for instruments that have looped samples (in Edit->Sample) but it only works in the app, the midi note on/off output is still tied to finger touch. I'll fix that right up for you so it only sends note-off when you unlatch it.
Thumbjam in the sidebar is wildly satisfying to think about. I can see lots of possibilities. Kudos @sonosaurus. Again.
