iVoxel on my iPhone 6s crackles like an old 78 rendering it useless. i've uninstalled and reinstalled it twice (including the two recent updates) all to no avail.

it works perfectly on ipad air 1. and worked fine on my old iPhone 5s.

i twice tried contacting the developers, Virsyn through the contact form on their website. ive had no reply from them .

anyone using iVoxel on an iPhone 6s without issue?

It is also producing nothing but audio garbage on my iPhone 6, but performing beautifully on iPad 2.
I have tried contacting the developers and left a less than flattering review on the App Store with no luck so far.

  • sorry to hear that jeff :/ but glad its not just me

  • If you plug headphones in all is normal. Must be the same problem as IAA instrument. Is that a fix for Apple or the Devs?

Ahh yes !! That works ... A work around but not ideal ... Thanks for the heads up fella ;)

    You're right; it does work!
I was having the same problem with both ToneStack and Jam Up in Audiobus when not using headphones.
Thank you so much for the solution.

  • I had a reply from Harry at virsyn... Sounds as though they are aware of the issue.

    Hello,

i’m sorry to hear from your problem. Could it possibly be a feedback problem ?
If used without headphones and the microphone enabled there can be a any sort of noises…
The iPhone 5s is indeed better in this behaviour.

The other potential reason could be a bluetooth headset connected to the iPhone. This can cause crackles.

    Best Regards

    Harry

  • They are good at responses. When they last updated Apreggist, the midi was broken. I emailed them, then they new of the problem, then a few days later it was fixed on the next update very shortly. No problems now. Virsyn are brill at this, not like IK Multimedia.

  • They fixed the broken MIDI issue in the previous update pretty quickly.

I suspect that iOS needs the fix. There seems to currently be some issues with the output. I was having the same problem with the iVoxel unless the headphone jack was used. In addition, both ToneStack and Jam up Pro are glitchy as hell through Audiobus if the output jack is not used. An hour ago I discovered that Sessonband will not play at all through Audiobus unless headphones are plugged in.
Yesterday, my wife had to have her 3 week old iPhone 6s+ replaced because there was no audio during phone calls. After running diagnostics, the tech discovered that her phone "thought that the headphone jack was in use"

was that considered a hardware fault!?

The workaround with headphones works when a jack lead is connected to headphone socket .. to a mixer for example.
