Am I missing something here?
I'm using a Focusrite isolo dock and being that it has a sub port on the back, I assumed I could plug a midi keyboard right into it. This is not the case. I even tried it with a powered sub hub but still no luck. It works just fine using a camera connection kit but then i can't use the dock and I can't charge my iPad while I use it, so are there any other options to achieve my goal?

Do you have an iTrack Dock or iTrack Solo?
The Dock has a USB A connector that will allow for USB midi devices.
However, the Solo's USB B connector is only for power, no midi.
Hope that helps.
Perfect answer. +100
it is the itrack dock, my midi controller would not work with it plugged it, it powered up but would not work. I checked my midi monitor and it was not even showing up
I have a Solo, not a Dock, so I can't help directly.
However, have a look at this page I found on the Focusrite site. Is your controller on the incompatible list at the bottom?
