Interesting! I passed all those over except filtatron which I haven't really used since I got wow filter. What makes dub filter great?

Are you a guitar player? That seems like a lineup that would work well with guitar

  • Don't know how I missed aufx, didn't realise who the dev was. Just watching vids now and they sound very nice. Aufx 4 pack or fluxfx?

Guitar-'esque'. I perform with on a modified bass (I'm one of those people that can't do things the 'normal' way..). My performance is hybrid instrumental/iOS, rather than just effects processing.

I've give a little more info, as you've expressed interest:

    1. AUFX:Space - Used on everything. Have it as a bus send in AUM for routing. Vital.
    2. Crystalline - Adds very nice depth without muddiness when you get the settings right.
    3. Dubfilter - I like using it as a bus and putting drums and low synth sounds through.
    4. Stereo Designer - Utility only, not live. Check out my Samplr thread for video demonstration.
    5. Filtatron - Used for processing electronic drums (LPF/Delay). Distinctive sound!

Here's a video in which I'm using Crystalline and AUFX:Space on a (normal) bass and Filtatron on drums (Funk Box):

It's very 'playable' in a 'performative' way. The two trackpads it gives for control are well thought out and allow you to easily and intuitively fine tune your sounds and produce great musical effects I also like to use it's built in compressor as a bus compressor and find that it adds a lot of groove when you're running both bass and drums through it.

I actually picked up Dubfilter reeeeally early on as it was free, but then got Filtatron and WOW and left it unused. Later I was having fun with filters and added it because the other two were in use already. Immediately loved it and now it's the most used of the three (by a large margin).

World class gear. I only listed Space but use the whole set and believe that they're making their way to AU at some point in the future.

    O

  • In addition to all of the above (AUFX is a given)

    RP-1
    Tonestack
    All Virsyn effects
All Blamsoft (Kind of bread and butter but as AU's are always handy in AUM)

  • Fabfilter Timeless
    Fabfilter Saturn
    Master FX
    Vandelay
    Stereo Designer

  • Turnado

    Effectrix

    LiveFX (albeit unstable)

    Muckraker

    Tone stack

  • SilQ
    Caramel
    Amplitube
    Korvpressor
    Johnny

    AUM

At first when I saw this I went "huh?", but after thinking about it, it makes perfect sense. The built in processing is first class, not to mention elegant signal routing!

  • AUM built-in low-pass and saturation
    Apefilter
    Aufx dub
    Dedalus
    Virsyn AudioReverb

I pretty much only use those

  • AD 480
    AUFX Dub
    Korvpressor
    Phlox Phaser
    Emo Chorus

Heh, heh, yes it strikes me that I have only just begun to explore the possibilities of AUM.

Yeah, there is a good range of options and all knobs are midi learneable. I haven't used it on a guitar but drums, synth bass and the likes sound pretty sweet, nasty but not overly digital IMO

That depends on a few things. I like Flux: FX, but keep in mind there are separate versions for the iPad and iPhone. It also tends to be very CPU-hungry, so your device (not sure what you're using?) may be a factor.

I LOVE the AUFX apps, especially Dub and Space. I use them a lot. Very low CPU, small app size, they're Universal, and very affordable. You can't go wrong with those apps. They're maintained well by Kymatica, and they have a lot of great features.

  • AUFX Dub
    AUFX Space
    StereoDesigner
    ToneStack
    AudioReverb

  • Had forgotten/overlooked SilQ. Very good at what it does (eq) and quick and to the point.

  • Also, I don't think a bet on that the AUFX apps will become AU some time in the not too distant future, would be completely out of order. ;)
Flux:FX is wild though. As Sean said, depends on what device you have and what you are after. :)

  • Altispace
    Flection
    ApeFilter
    Crystalline
AUM & Auria Pro fx (can't Seperate as I use them on most everything).

It is undoubtedly the best deal in the App Store. I love it.
