Audio sequencer suggestions please.
I have been using Launchpad for a while now- but I would like to arrange my audio clips on a timeline now as opposed to playing them 'live' as it were- in order that I can take my time and get it all just right.
Can you suggest the simplest/best way of doing this please. I don't really want or need a fully fledged DAW. I just want to be able to import from Audioshare (this part is essential) and drop/ arrange on a timeline- so it's more or less just an audio sequencer I need.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I have plans for such an app, a simple non-destructive audio editor with a timeline, that has direct access to all files from AudioShare. Hopefully one of the projects for next year
I would suggest either Loopersonic or Multitrackdaw by harmonicdaw. Both are dead simple but productive.
Loopersonic hasn't any import as I know or could be able to find.
MultitrackDAW is your best option, it's light, fast, simple and universal
It takes a little to get used to the naked interface but everything you need is there

(I don't know about LooperSonic)
Not really the simplest option but @1P18 thread details sending samples to S*nV*x and other techniques that you may not need
https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/12001/sunvox-it-slices-it-dices-a-brief-guide-to-a-sample-slicing-technique-in-sunvox
After that placing patterns on the timeline is super simple.
Looper sonic definitely has import. And I would recommend it over multitrack because it's much easier to trim things and move them around. The only thing you're missing is a mixer with eq and such. And only 8 tracks. But I started using for basic audio sequencing after getting fed up with multitrack
Loopersonic +1
I have Everest as well, not sure what that can do either.
Loopersonic was the first thing that popped in my head as well. Maybe Group the Loop if you want multiple clips per "part"? (I don't have the latter but I have watched the videos and it seems like it would fit your use case.)
Fuck yeah Group the Loop, but, no IMPORT I believe.
Also , not universal.
I love the app, just not for this
@robosardine, Auria LE (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/auria-le/id585683569?mt=8) supports AudioCopy, AudioShare and AudioBus, only 20 bucks, almost as powerful as Auria for audio-only workflow, up to 24 simultaneous audio tracks, amazing built-in effects (EQ, gate, expander, compressor and buss compressor, limiter and brick wall) and the possibility to add world class plug-in as IAPs, the ability to purchase an upgrade to Auria Pro if and when you need a full fledged DAW.
I am truly amazed at people not noticing the absolute bargain Auria LE is this days.

ANOTHER GREAT APP HERE
I think Samples does not have a sequencer, @RustiK...
Right.
Yeah, I just wanted to put it out there since I saw he used Launchpad I thought maybe someone hadn't seen this one.
You have Samples?
If I understand the question, I believe Loopy will do what you're looking for.
THIS made me laugh out loud.
Is this what we've become? censored S*nV*x-ers??
Be proud I say ... BE PROUD
(apologies for thread diversion)
That @Proppa, they are a right S__V__er!!
Is what they'll be saying..
Sxxxxx
You guys are losing letters one by one....
Yes - thank you very much for all the replies-
A new app doing this- sounds great- could you make it straightaway right now instead of straightaway next year?
Multitrack DAW does look good- I am definitely interested in that one along with Loopersonic and Auria LE. I am not too sure about Samples- the app mentioned. The Sunvox option- may be one to fall back on I think. Loopy- I had no idea that you could arrange samples on a timeline in this.
Just to clarify- I am looking for an app to easily arrange audio clips/ wavs/ phrase samples (as long as they can be imported from Audioshare)- on a timeline so that I can come back to it- press 'play' and then hear my samples play in the order which I had previously arranged them. I am hoping to do this in the simplest way possible- (all the hard work is done in other apps in preparing the samples......... thank you again Blocs Wave & friends)- I don't want knobs, buttons, pictures of Hi Hats (or the like), cross references, lack of clarity, a crowded screen for no apparent reason- and all the rest of it-to be there unless they absolutely have to. All I want is a timeline and an easy filing system for the samples that I have imported from Audioshare from which to pick and drop...... and maybe edit a little...
My suggestions would be Cubasis or Auria (LE). I should say that I have Auria Pro, but I would imagine LE would be much simpler. Cubasis ( I feel) is pretty straightforward too, regarding just using audio files.
iMovie
No edit no fuss but it lets you sequence audioclips
some good suggestions already - worth considering Garageband too! You can paste from Audioshare. Although there is no real file organization for pasted samples... But you mentioned Launchpad, and the recent update to GB featured the Live Loops addition - which is similar to Launchpad in a way (clip based loop player) It's quite a nice feature to have!
Actually, I just remembered another app which might fit your purpose, Ferrite Recording Studio by Wooji Juice; the maker of MitoSynth. Don't own it myself but it looks it might be a good fit from the intro video.
Anyone who bought it care to chip in with a mini review for the OP?
Actually that reminds me of a little, pale blue book, inherited from my great uncle George, that had missing _____ every few sentences. Had some connection with his membership of a _____ apparently..
Hmmm. This might be a good thought. I did buy Ferrite for its podcasting abilities but haven't done much in that line recently so HAVE NEVER OPENED IT (that old thing...), however just did and it's certainly easy to slide stuff around/line it up etc. Does seem that for limitless tracks/fx/automation/other goodies you need to IAP (19.99) so I would take a look at the reviews and see what's missing. BUT -of course- like a dog seeing a sudden squirrel I am all interested (and will shortly be twenty bucks poorer no doubt)....

Ah yes, didn't notice the IAPs.. Still, seems there is fair utility in the base, free version. Certainly enough for @robosardine to make an evaluation with.
Yeah. Three or four cups of cheaper Austin coffee later It's cool. Quite very cool. And perfect for a radio show/podcast, which of course is exactly what it's designed for. Lots of videos at the Wooji Juice YT page which would give @robosardine or anyone else plenty of insight. My guess is that it would be just what's needed but for the 20 bucks they might be able to figure out another way etc...
Next iPad I talk myself into deserving, I'm going download some of these weightier apps again. In the meantime, thanks for taking one for the team JG.
Nice hack!
Think one feature you'll probably want in whichever app you go with is some sort of 'snap to bar' so you're not zooming around endlessly and wondering if your slide over or paste worked. You might also want time stretching if Launchpad is currently handling that for you.
Loopy doesn't have a timeline.
Do you already own NanoStudio or Beatmaker? They'll both do this without problem. Beatmaker will allow you to see it like an audio track while NanoStudio will let you keep your hair when it comes to the file system. Neither have direct AudioShare support though copy paste or 'open in' from AudioShare works fine.
