GeoSynth with Auria
Trying to use GeoSynth as control surface for Lyra or the Fabfilter synths. I select Auria in the output, or Network session 1, then set Auria to listen. Set the channel to 10 on both, have tried having Auria listen on all. No love at all. Anyone got this to work?
Comments
I've had it working, but I haven't tested it with the latest version of Auria. Have you armed the track?
Adding Thumbjam makes it function here.
I did. Tried with both network session 1 and Auria selected in GeoSynth. Set to accept all channels in Auria. Can't get it to go.
You sent it to TJ, and set TJ to send midi to Auria?
toggle ThumbJams midi thru to on.
handy trick. for example it is the only way i can get BeatHawk to work with TC-Data.
Interesting. I should try it with Midiflow as well.
@rickwaugh Couldn't find a trace of geo in midiflow, maybe with creating a virtual port, in ThumbJam nothing selected except midi thru, as @Moderndaycompiler said.
Using my free double-post for asking if anybody heard news about geo-shred's coming midi?
Not sure they have said anything more. Jordan said they would like to put it in, but not sure they said for sure. GeoSynth is actually an acceptable substitute, the control surface is pretty much the same, just that GeoShred is prettier.
Can't find an option for midi thru?
Put Auria background audio to on.
Network session 1 as input.
Record arm midi track with lyra as instrument.
Geo synth midi config Auria is selected (highlighted blue).
Works for me.
Blessed event. Though, why am I sending to Auria, but Auria is listening on Network Session 1? Doesn't matter. It works. Thanks.
Actually, I can just listen on all. It works. I think it was the background audio mode, which I had turned off for some reason.
Glad it works now
@rickwaugh midi thru is in Thumbjam prefs/midi control/input options @dblonde thanks! Auria background audio is off by default when opening a new project.
I realized that I had never tried to play anything with a soft controller before. I have used a drum pad, but Auria was open at the time. And before, I'd used Thumbjam, but it was generating the sound. So, I never had to check for the background audio before.
