Yeah, think you should drop the price to about $19.99 for the week @Navichord !

    How about it?

    yeah, that's the ticket! Sold!

No wait, that's too low. I've got money bleeding out of my pockets, let's make it a nice tidy $49.99!!!

Had a play last night with Navichord Lite and like it. I'm not a musician, but was able to come up with some tolerable stuff with this app, especially with the sequencer.

But now, others have mentioned ChordPolyPad and Chordion. Had a quick look at those and like that ChordPolyPad is more ful-featured, but I don't like the regular keyboard (since I'm not a musican... Navichord is easier for me to use) But ChordPolyPad is also universal.

Chordion looks cool too... has a similar layout for the chords played, also has midi, appears to be very highly reviewed... and is less expensive. No link, but I'm not sure I care about that.

What does Navichord do better than the other two competitors?

  • Dev support!
    It's worth every penny.

No idea. I only have Navichord. Something about the look of it and the simplicity grabbed me. I enjoy playing it and find that enough. Firo is quite playable too, especially if you are strapped for cash as its now free I believe

  • I make tunes with Navichord (and loops). Pretty much all I ever ask or hope for.

Checked out ChordPolyPad videos... and like the more simple interface of Navichord. Also like the way you can slide between chords. And the sequencer is dead easy to use too. Just the right amount of features without too much complicated fluff. Seems well thought out and a sort of "just get to it" kind of app.

Now Chordion.. also midi, doesn't do the slide between chord thing, but has built-in arpeggiator and drum machine. And for a dollar more than Navichord I can get the Chordion/Ondes bundle.. which also looks very cool and just my non-musician speed.

Besides the adoration of the dev support, can someone who has both tell me if Navichord is better than having the Chordion/Ondes bundle? And no, I'm not buying them all. :) Like Navichord, but really enticed by the Chordion/Ondes bundle too for about the same price.

  • @skiphunt , Navichord has a sequencer/looper that is the main difference.
Chordion is a nice app, you can't go wrong with it, cheap too. If not sure, look at youtube.
CPP is a flagship for chords, many people love it, flexible settings.
Some people have all three ;)

There is a recent thread comparing ChordPolyPad and Navichord, check it out.

PS. I only have Chordion, not Odnes.

  • I think there's a similar app call something prism too...oh and THEY are on sale!

    Very sensible and fair post.

Thanks! CPP is more than I want I think. Chord ion doesn't sound like it does the smooth transition from chord to chord like Navichord. Odnes looks fun though.

None are on ask at the moment so no rush.

Will play with Navichord lite a bit more. Something about it just clicks and feels right, if that makes any sense.

  • I have Chordion and the main reason Navichord is my main dish its because the onscreen keyboard on chordion is limited and not able to let you play everything but only what ever octave goes with the chord. With Navichord you cam play any octave. I love it
