Different Drummer [SOLVED] audio cut out...

I have a really bad problem with DD.
It plays for a couple of minutes and suddenly silence, Audio cuts completely . I tried to reset audio, nothing. Happens when I start building up a track and change samples...
What is even worse, is it cuts audio on iPad to all apps. In order to restore audio DD has to be completely closed double click and swipe up...
Can anyone try? ..... air2 latest iOS

  • DD is a pretty advanced piece of software, maybe one of the new features has a bug. Can you repeat the same steps to get the error? Let us know what those steps are and we can try to reproduce it. The good news is that DD's dev, Peter is a pretty responsive, so if you identify the cause he'll fix it

    I described the steps in my post.
    Standalone DD and build up tracks and change samples .....within few minutes click and silence.... I started from default template.
    Did you try, or can you try? It doesn't take long, happens in few minutes....audio is completely disabled on iPad.

    Are you changing samples in the zenterface or the standard UI?
    Are you playing while changing samples?
    Sorry but your description needs to be much more specific for us to help track it with you :)

  • Air2 latest iOS.

    It happens when I just start from default with default sounds and I start to change sounds to my imported samples.
    It happens out of blue, I change sound and suddenly silence. Closing it doesn't help, must be swiped out.

    If you want to try to reproduce, play default and start replacing samples with your own...
    See if your sound cuts. I have no crashes, it runs, no glitches, just sound is gone.
    It happens in any "face", little after I change sound.
    Coincidence, or could it be the sample itself?
    Also I am not doing any morphing or randomising or anything potentially stressing to iPad and DD.
    Weird isn't it? And what's more it disables audio in iPad...NO SOUND from any app.
    Also does the little sample preview button work for you?

    Will try that out and feed back to you.

    Sounds familiar that loss of sound from any app. I had the same problem with Thor and found that having the keyboard shrunk when opening seems to stop it (so far anyway).
    I also found most apps had no sound after crash, but playing Nlog Pro brought the sound back. How odd is that!

    Ok will go try DD again.

    I can't seem to get it to crash loading my own sounds that are already in DD, I have however managed to get it to crash by loading a new sound into DD and clicking on the temporary file that appears of the same name as the file loaded. Seems a different problem to what you are describing though.

    Are you working from a clean session, I.e. Have you made sure there are no ghost IAA apps running in the background?

  • No problems here using my custom samples @soundklinik . Using latest iOS on mini2.

  • I have had problems in the past with using my own samples in DD, can seem a bit temperamental for custom samples. Have you tried re-saving the custom samples as a new file, eg 16 bit instead of 24 bit...not sure if this'll help but maybe something in this method...

    It cut on me few times this morning and yesterday. Since then, after I posted....nothing.

    Sooo it is a bit bizarre why did it stop doing that? And I didn't do anything different than yesterday...

  • Some issues are nearly impossible to locate. They can happen through some exact circumstances that we don't even know are being done.

    Took me ages to work out what I was doing to make a bug happen in iMini once. Then I found out it only happens when using the iOS split keyboard.
