How bad is Gadget's reverb really?
Bit of a niche question - but I wondered how bad people thought Gadget's reverb really is?
I mean it's basic - and I do find if I send drums to it it can get pretty tinny - but then other other times I feel like it's kind of ok.
I also wonder if the reverb inside some of the gadgets (hall, room, gate) is any different/better to the basic global reverb?
I'd be interested in the thoughts of anyone with good ears for this kind of thing.

I don't use the global Gadge reverb, but the verb on the individual Gadgets is pretty ringy / gritty. I take it to be part of Gadget's 'charm'. A lot of it's sounds are pretty lo-fi when really listened to, but it still has a huge sonic palette.
Yep - this true. There seems to be so much aliasing (correct term?) particularly in any complex patch in Wolfsburg. And Dublin ends up giving bass sounds so many clicks - to my ears - that I just don't use it.
But I agree sometimes it's part of the charm.
I find the sounds I can get out of Phoenix to be fantastic though. I totally love it.
I don't really like the reverb and limiter in Gadget. They add some hiss/high-end/low-fi ringing type sound I find. I rarely use the Limiter - and only use a little bit of reverb on most tracks.
I love how you keep sending me back to re-evaluate the Gadgets I decided (in my magnificence) were too average right at the start.
Phoenix, Wolfsburg and Kiev....
That's all i'm saying...
The reverb isn't great, but I still think the pros of this app outweigh the cons. The limiter definitely adds some unwanted artifacts to the sound. I've been loving Gadget these days. It's one of the only apps I've used in the last few weeks. Phoenix is my favorite synth. I used a few instances of it to create a trance lead in my latest song. I also love Wolfsburg, Dublin, Brussels, Abu Dhabi and Bilbao. This song is 22 tracks of Gadgets.
I've had a practical experience where I found the reverb on Gadget to be superior sounding to the Classic Reverb in Auria. Sidenote - if you copy/paste your exported stems into Auria, Gadget's reverb does not come along for the ride. Thankfully, there's the Convo Reverb in Auria, as well as plenty of great reverb apps out there to fill the void.
So, yeah, I like Gadget's reverb, but don't often get to "keep" it. Maybe with Link to quell track drift, I'll be able to play more Gadget tracks via Audiobus into Auria in the future.
Wow, this sounds fantastic. I'm still a sucker for these trance sounds even though it's bit what I often listen to (and I'm definitely not a "clubber," nothing wrong with that it's just not mine). But this sounds really good, this lush middle section is beautiful in the context of the whole piece. I'd love to see how you made this, I could never quite get the trance construction down.
I'm in the 'terrible but part of its charm' club. I rarely use it.
Thanks. I posted the song here to show that you can make a decent sounding production using only Gadget's reverb/limiter. I'll start another thread to discuss Trance production.

I like it, but then I'm a sucker for those relatively cheap Alesis Midi/Microverbs heard on Autechre (& every other Warp) record 20 years ago. I only wish it wasn't a global send effect & editable to some degree.
