  • If you don't have it already. Go get it. You need it (in my opinion of course;)

    Took your advice, you enabler.

    You are right. Sounds sweet.

  • Love xynthesizr to death. Maybe since shoom is done yuri can give xynthesizr some love.

  • I grabbed it too. Love it!

With Shoom, a fresh update to Sparkle, and just picked up Xynthesizr... I might be good for the weekend. :)

Oh, also grabbed Bebot a couple days ago. Glad I did. Such a sweet app. Although so,e suggest Shoom is a bit of Bebot on steroids... Im having fun getting some other-worldly drones going on in Shoom loaded into AUM, them playing along a little Bebot melody to go with it. Really fun combo.

Can't believe I held out so long for Xynthesizr... it's pretty cool.

  • Can't wait for Shoom to accept midi from Xynthesizr!!!

Don't forget xynthesizr can be used as a midi sequencer too!
(Oh right. Looks like you guys didn't forget ;)
What a great developer Yuri is. Very impressed with his apps.

I'll flip that and say don't forget it can be a midi destination too! It's really a great sounding little synth.

Agreed. Will also go along with the idea that Mister Yuri might be so content with the work he's done on Shoom and the reception its garnered to go mad and add a song mode (I'll even take a StepPolyArp pattern mode :) into the very fine Xynth....

    That would be the dreamiest.

Almost feels like part of the standard issue kit.

  • Have seen it since I began using iOS for music making and it always looked interesting. I thought it was more of an arpeggiator or cyclical sounding synth using patterns only but it's that and more.

Spent an hour and a half with it this afternoon, bought it today for the sale, and it can do so much especially with the note value selection range and wide BPM range. If you put some preproduction into it you could get a slow, long moving chord progression going and then have 2 hands free to solo or change filters & effects on the Xnyth.

It seems that a jam, with out pre-sequencing bits or playing loops, can be achieved real easy with this. A great app for a straight from scratch jam or heavy production multitrack work.

  • Be nice if Link was added.

Or, at least, proper IAA transport control, as it's a pain to stop/start without using Link To Midi for me.

I don't have any solid insight, but given the caliber of this dev & his new killer app Shoom... I bet Xynthesizr gets love sooner than later.

I personally love both these sweet apps, and finally having them made my weekend... as well as discovering Bebot from this forum. :)

Came here to be the third or fourth person to say this.

  • Okay okay...picked up Shoom yesterday and Xynthesizr this morning. Shall we now declare this International Yuri Turov day?
After a quick play with Xynth, I realized that I've been jonesing for an app just like this. This will allow me to do the kind of stuff I thought I'd be doing in midiSTEPs. The internal sounds are quite good, and if you're low on melodic inspiration, simply sneezing on the screen can yield some decent sounding results.

  • I have heard xynthesizr will be getting an update. Not sure how big of an update though.

  • edited April 2016

Just snagged it up. I'm always a little uneasy with these apps that seem to almost have a mind of their own (also like Fugue Machine, TC-11...) but it was too cool ... We'll see if Xynth and I can find a way to mutually tame each other.

  • It looks like I should be able to have other stuff use Xynthesizr's sound engine to, but haven't been able to figure it out.

Can I have something like Arpist and/or SunVox use Xynthesizr's synth? If so, how?

    @skiphunt

There's a separate MIDI settings page (see MIDI button to left of gear button at bottom).

MIDI in for Xyntheiszr seems a little flaky. Just tried to drive Xynthesizr with fugue machine and steppolyarp. Couldn't get fugue machine to go at all. I could get steppolyarp to drive Xynthesizr, but every time I'd try to bring Xynth to focus on the screen, the Xynth GUI would disappear. Maybe others have had better luck.

Thanks. That's what I was thinking. Seemed like I had it going briefly, but couldn't reproduce it. Wondered if I was doing something wrong.

I've got midi out going ok with animoog, firo, and XK-1. Shape Synth & Strng worked also. Seems some synths work better than others.

Sounds cool mixed wiped with a tweaked Xynthesizr sound engine, but I wish I could control the levels of each synth's stream.

  • That last comment made me laugh :D

  • If one already has Gadget, what does Xynthesizer add to the tool chest?

Key and transitioning on the fly. Random note morphing.

It is generative which can sound random but it isn't. I would like to extend the concept but right now I'm not in the condition to do that(girlfriend borrowing half of my limbs for cuddles)

Yeah true. But really, get off line while your gf wants attention! :p

  • Doh! Missed the sale!
    Thanks @Fruitbat1919 and @mschenkel.it
    Those features do sound nice.
