@MusicInclusive it seems you know the most about iconnectivity's products and their current status.
My ipad4 is currently on ios8 and it seems to finally be safe to update to 9, but what about my macbook?

Without taking things out in advantage, and with limited scientific research, I'd say it should work. It did for me. It hasn't for months, but now it does. Derek (i.e. @MusicInclusive) knows more on the topic in general, and probably knows the official stand-point, but I'm not sure he actually in reality has that many Macs to be able to confirm himself. It does work fine for me, for the first time in months though (using the latest of everything on everything).
Yes. The latest El Capitan also fixes the problem from the Mac end.
I haven't upgraded my Macbook I use with the iCA4+ from Yosemite - for other reasons entirely - so, I'm not speaking from my own personal experience, but the iC folks have confirmed it works.
I've been pondering moving it to El C shortly however and I have no question about doing so because of any ongoing lack of support of the iCA4+.
Thanks! Love my audio4+ hope it last me as long as my presonus firebox, if not longer.
My MacBook Pro has been updated to the latest OS for some time now and have no issues with iconnect audio 4, other than the fact I hate iconfig
