Figure Updated! - with new patch menu :)
Much appreciated patch menu update here. The one thing I was really hoping for with Figure. Thank you!
The ability to hide patches is a cool thing. Would also have been cool to be able to rearrange the order but this is something that can be added later I guess. I like that you can select a patch and the menu doesn't close, so you can keep auditioning.
Not sure about the big white screen that is all. I think it would have looked and fit in better if it was a 3/4 screen that slid up from the bottom to just below the current patch text. Then have a 2 or 3 column list rather than one long scrolling list. Don't like being taken right out or covered up by a full white screen.
Nice addition Allihoopa team (previously the "Propellerhead mobile team" I guess).

To hell with figure.
I want link or at least midi clock in.
On day 1, when I BOUGHT IT, I asked them for some basic editing of parts.
So screw you Props, there are many developers delivering the products their users want.
DELETED.
Sorry for my ignorance but, Figure hasn't been free from day 1 ?
I've just checked on appshopper and I can't see anytime when it wasn't free.
It was 99 cents for the first year or two it came out. I also paid -- my very first paid music app!
Haven't always agreed with how they've taken it (or not), and sometimes have felt frustrated because of that, especially because of the app's potential, but I certainly have got my money's worth...Link would be lovely however...
No, when it was released, it was a paid for app....it wasn't expensive, only about 99c, but still, I paid for it, and gifted it to a couple of mates for a xmas pressie a year or 2 ago.
Ah... Ok.
I paid for it too , never really used it though , a bit too ' templet ' music for me lol
Like the new 'access to the list of presets'. Very basic looking, but makes it easy to preview a loop through a variety of sounds...as mentioned elsewhere, Figure is what they want it to be, but can still be useful for perfect export quick bass lines or top loops...
I really like this update to be able to quickly change presets. But I agree, the basic "white screen list" pop-up is ugly, and doesn't fit at all with the rest of "the look" of the app. Really looks like they spent very little time on that one. Shame, because the rest of the app looks very nice and stylish.
If you didn't get 99 cents out of Figure, you're doing it wrong. Definitely get the 'ugh, the app is so close to my version of amazing' frustration but that's got absolutely nothing to do with the cost of admission.
Figure was THE app that got me into the whole thing.
So I can't complain for 79p.
I still have a soft spot for its expensive playing surface, clever way of composing/looping and it's great sound.
Also wish it had Link. (And midi out - can you imagine what you could do with that?)
I just opened Figure for the first time since the earlier versions and the song I had saved on it doesn't show up in the song browser. I'm guessing the newer versions of the app are not backwards compatible?
Also, I see that I still have the .figure song project file that I saved on my computer. Can this be loaded back into the new version of Figure?
This really should already exist. Something that sends out pulses at a user defined rate (count per bar and time division) with the ability to be fixed to a scale that you play with some surface. 2-8 tracks. Port+channel per track, all sync options under the sun.
Maybe it already exists? Feel pretty confident it could be done with Lemur. Gumdrops is similar but it's one note per pulse set. New thumbjam arpeggiator might get close but don't think that will allow you to throw arbitrary notes at it.
Obviously, some arpeggiators and most sequencers will allow you to create similar output but the ease with which it happens is figure is what it's about. It's fast, very musical and very fun.
cc @artkerns midiAPP 4? : )
It's been free for about a year: http://appsliced.co/app?n=figure
Apparently someone on their team has a sense of humor about 4/20, though they don't seem to be running that joke again today, heh
Yes!
