Alesis Core 1 - anybody own/use/tried one?
Basically wondering if the Core 1 is any good. Didn't find much on the web and it appears as though it's been available for a while. Not looking for high end, just something simple to record with while traveling (along with a mic, k-board w/Puc+ and travel guitar). Mostly for capturing ideas, no Live performing involved ;-) The others I've looked at either have proprietary/non-standard cables ( travel can be hard om cables) or Hi-z input only (not good for mic).
Any feedback on the Core 1 or suggestions on other devices appreciated.

I have mine for a while now and like it very much. It's built-quality is very good for the price-point - (aluminium-housing with plastic front and end). I'm using mine pretty exclusively with my mac but since it's core-audio compatible it should work with iphone/ipad as well.
The preamp seems to be quite usable without plenty of noise. But I'm using the input only for my guitar-pickup. If you want to attach a microphone, you should be aware of, that it has no 48v phantom-power on board.
It is a very basic unit and that is, what I like most about it.
^^
What @Earsinn said except that I am using it with iPad via CCK.
Good to hear guys. @Earsinn - I plan to use a dynamic mic so no 48v required.
