    That news greatly increases my app regret :(

  • I definitely feel like an idiot.What kind of policy is this?I bought all 3 versions yesterday for the regular price,which is about 20 Euros,and now you can get them for 3 Euros.
    So the name of this is "Let the idiots pay!".Well it's like in the real world.
    Thank you Sessionband for this lesson!

  • Ohh, go on then...

  • I hope I can get home from work in time to get this. Faults and all, it's worth $0.99 to try it out and get my own opinion. :-)

    Yeah, sorry.....Completely agree, about the pricing debacle. I even thought twice about posting, as I knew it would be a sickener for some....but good news for others.

    I reckon they may have responded to some criticism of chord choice. But the apps sound great and it was probably no small task in putting the recordings together for these apps.

  • Just bought all three,at this price why not,I've paid much more than this,for apps that are really poor and got deleted. Thanks @spookyzoo

  • @spookyzoo no,it was right you posted it,so others van profit from it.I think it is fair to do it
    the other way round,make an introduction price and if I don't buy it then ,it's my fault and later
    I pay the full price,no problem.But to do it this way...All 3 apps are good by the way.
    @PaulB Excuse me,what?

  • That was my response to the original post. Like being offered free cake...

  • It sucks when it happens, and it happens a lot on the AppStore. I've been burned many times, and it just makes you wanna wait for the apps to go on sale. I use the app AppZapp to check on an apps price history and the devs history (it's also a great update/price alert app, and it's alot better and faster to browse top lists, categories etc then Apples own AppStore app). Anyway all that said I just bought these apps cos...I'm a appoholic! :)

  • I can't seem to buy the Acoustic session app. The price is right, and everything seems fine, but it just won't purchase that one (the one I want the most). I got the piano one though. I'd still like to get the acoustic one though....

  • I just bought all three apps this week, too and as much as I'd love to have saved some change, I have no problem supporting the company. It's a great app! And, hopefully, they keep supporting their apps.

  • I was finally able to purchase all three apps. I need to dig into them to see if I like them though...

  • Out of curiosity, if a dev does want to run a price sale (which almost everyone eventually does) what would be a good practice to avoid burning people?

  • You can't. Just make your apps good enough so that folks are really happy with their full price purchase. Oh... you already do. :)

  • @PaulB Well that goes without saying :) Happy customers = positive word of mouth which is critical for indie devs. But still, all devs vary prices over time, for many reasons. There are definitely some unspoken rules about what price variations people are cool with and not cool with. I'm interested in getting these out in the open.

    The degree of outrage over a price drop is probably mostly a function of the size of the price drop. No one complained when I recently dropped guitarism from $3 to $1 for a couple days, or even when Audiobus dropped from $10 to $5 a couple months after launch. But SessionBand x3 dropping from $6-$9 to $1 each was a bigger blow.

    There's probably also a time factor. In my earlier examples, guitarism and Audiobus held their higher prices for a while before dropping, so people felt that these were the 'base' prices. But the SessionBand apps just launched a few days ago, so people bought them due to 'launch buzz' and then felt burnt from the 'price drop buzz'.

    I'm probably going to try dropping guitarism to free someday - sometime in the next 3-12 months. If possible, I'll pre-announce it to see what effect that has on pre-price-drop sales. Should be interesting :)

    The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • Same here with Appstore Austria, price is €5,49-7,49

  • It said only a few hours when the offer was on.

    .

  • But some did, and i bet they sold some extras when it was on. ;)

  • I had already bought jazz and piano full price, but I at least got acoustic for .99. That was kind of a strange deal and kind of annoying I must say.

    @Simon

    It was a pretty smart move actually, just checked the charts for music (paid) and the 3 apps are hovering around 50, a jump of about about 150 positions. I also noticed that this move also got them to the top of the Appshopper list temporarily during the sale.

    You get some people to buy at a lower price and hopefully give good ratings/word of mouth, and then by the time most people get around to checking it out the price has gone up. The psychology there is that the second group may not realize it was a sale that drove chart rankings/hotness, and assume people are buying and rating it well based on the full price, thus reinforcing further full-price sales.

  • They changed the prices again, around 50% off now.

  • Shame I missed the $1 bargain, as I'd have jumped on them then to just have them. At current prices I'll pass, they aren't something I need.

  • session band is a very good tool ...but can anybody tell me how to sync drum tracks to it from other apps like drumloops hd etc

  • @kennyrox I dont think thats possible. You would have to copy or record in a daw, and paste drumloops. Even then you would have to maybe timestretch one of them first to get bpms to match.
