MultiTrack DAW 2 in the works!!! Details inside!! :-)

MultiTrack DAW 2 is in the works!

Here are some highlights from the forum webpage:

I've been quietly working on 'multitrack 2' for quite a while now. And it's the place to do all the new, processor heavy shiny stuff for newer devices only, including the new AU ver 3.

MultiTrack DAW will still be updated, and will include LinkKit and some other goodies in the next update, then I'll get to work on finishing the first release of MultiTrack 2 which I've been working on for what seems like forever.

That's really good to hear about the updates and the new version! Is MTD 2 still going to be compatible with the newer iPhones?

Yes, mtd 2 will run on the newer hardware, I'll know more after some tests but any of the newer 64 bit cpu's will be fine.
Unfortunately I can't update multitrack 1 (MultiTrack Classic?) with the new Audio Units ver 3, too much would have to change and the stability would be compromised, but the point I was trying to make was that I want it to support older iOS versions as much as possible and it's becoming too much. So a new product can start with a clean slate, without dirtying up the stable old product, if that makes any sense.

Version 2 sounds exciting. Will it be audio only or, dare I say it, possibly include midi?

Can you give us a feature list or is it too soon yet?

It's a bit soon but I can say that I've been designing around synchronization and automation from the start. So, it's going to be more of a 'professional' platform with some advanced features, while hopefully keeping it clean and simple, like the way iOS should be.

Full automation on everything. A 'conductor' track that can be automated, so that things like tempo and master volume can be changed automatically. Midi, will probably be in the form of the AudioUnit, because AU's have the full support for presets.

Only the basics are there so far, it's going to take some time. I'll try to keep you guys updated better with the progress. Thanks for the interest!
