Are the iM1 orchestral sounds any good?

I'm looking for dramatic soundtrack style orchestral sounds. iSymphonic Orchestra looks good but I like working in gadget and saw iM1 has an orchestral section, is it any good?

Not really. Specially compared to isymphonic orchestra. There might be a few decent orchestral sounds but it's not the app main focus.

  • Hi, i just Checked the Im1 there are a slot of orchestra's presets , there are not too bad with a multitimbral session but dont expect something realistic as the isymphonic. If you have the bismarck bs16 you can download orchestra's soundfont.Others alternatives are sampletank, GarageBand (not too bad) or music studio ...

  • Thanks for the quick feedback guys, guess I'm not too surprised by the lukewarm reviews. I'll give GarageBand a listen since I have it anyways and go from there.

Auria Pro is on my wish list and I think it has a soundfont player that might do the job as well.

  • I have Oriental Strings and if you're looking for dramatic it certainly delivers.
    Rich and powerful sounds.

  • Not really. It's great but very synthetic, with sounds very much like Aphex Twin's 'ICCT Hedral' or 'Next Heap With'.
