The download says it's for Ableton Live, but finding the raw samples is easy. Zipped, they weigh about 556kb.

    Emotionally a sucka for some of the tunes on Sign o' the Times, so it was a must have as a sop to my younger self...

    Sign o' the Times is amazing. Bring three when it came out, I didn't listen to it in full until a few years ago. Strange, funky, etc in all the right ways.

    I don't have Live, where the effects (such as compression) are added. That's a big part of the sound. But the samples themselves are just .wav files. I zipped up just the samples and emailed them to myself. Audioshare can open zip files, and from there you can copy and paste them into any drum app that accepts user samples.

    Prince delivered a LOT of acoustic drum performances early on. Especially on 1999. "Irresistible Bitch" and "Lady Cab Driver" come to mind.
