ModStep Sample Import [SOLVED]

I seem to have some difficulties importing samples into MS. I am not talking about import from AS, that is OK , the problem is where they land.
To show you what I mean, I open New session.

Now this is new session, I go into AS and import my sample. Look where it lands...in midi files.

Why did it go into MIDI files? It is an audio sample ...and when I open MS, all should be in default and audio sample should go into "imported" and audio files.
How did it end up in Midi folder when I didn't even open that folder?...
Furthermore click on sample says it's been copied to sampler...do you want to overwrite it? ..No I don't I didn't manage to load it? :#
EDIT
Problem solved I was NOT in Sampler mode, but in midi.

  • The 'copy to sampler' function overwrites files until they allow us to rename them. For now u have to send a recording to Audioshare, rename it, and reimport it.

Importing to folders I have no issue with, make sure the desired folder is highlighted blue before u import.

Thanks, I was trying to import a loop from AS, it wasn't recoded in MS...

And then it creates a new sampler with the loop,loaded?.....Can't manage that.... :'(

The problem is I didn't find a default setting to the audio and midi import folder.
It should open in default and let you choose where to put sample or do it automatically between midi and audio.

I'll look into chopping up a loop and importing it into the sampler as soon as I can. Currently making a template for Gadget London and Bilbao and my God is that taking time....

Edit:- Tutorial ready. just editing and uploading the video currently. should be up soon.

@gonekrazy3000 , man thank you so much for this video, you made my day, or should I say night.
Yes I got the idea :)
I know now what I was doing wrong.... I was in midi, not in sampler :#

WOW! Actually it is so sophisticated, .....the immediate slicing of the imported loop and only the part between the two arrows (start/end) from the entire loop will play....ingenious.

So my apologies to ModStepers for bitching about something that is better than I thought.
Fantastic, that just made my sampling life so much easier..
And many thank you @gonekrazy3000 , for taking your time to make that video. :)
    Have a good night
