Quantize... Quantization... Quantizing... Quantized!?!?

Is there a particular reason so many apps/developers don't incorporate this basic feature? Having over 20 audiobus apps including many synths like Sunrizer and Nave I've realized there are no quantization options (at least I can't find them) in some of my favorites, as found in my hardwear. Just curious!

Is there anyway for audiobus to help with this. Ex: a "quantize in" feature.

  • If I want a quantised line, I tend to record it in Cubasis and then use that to control the synth via midi, recording the output via AB back into Cubasis.

  • Thanks for the reply PhilW. Your description is the reason for my initial post. Cubasis would be one expensive "quantize app", because I currently don't use it (I use nanostudio and/or import the files into reaper for final mix).
It's just something that I see as a major missing feature, especially if the developers are going to spend months (and in some cases years) to develop these brilliant apps.

  • There many midi alternatives to Cubasis. I like Genome and have read good things about Midi Step Sequencer.

  • input quantize, eh? I'd ask the MIDI Bridge dev. I can't imagine many synths would bother to implement that.

  • I never use quantize.

  • I always use quantize! (When available)
