Mini2 still impresses

I was bad and bought Model 15. On top of that, I was worried my mini2 would choke, but I was surprised, although it is close to max'd with running Different Drummer driving M15 on two midi channels and six audio tracks in DD plus automation in DD. All mux'd through AUM. Trimmed in Audioshare. Tweaked a patch in M15 (I think that's what ended in the final mix.)

  • Great! We are landing on Bali island!

    Happy Holiday!

  • Yeasterday, I just went @JohnnyGoodyear 's ocean park...

    :D great journey

  • love my mini2

  • I sometimes still rewind that countryside steak house song! :D That is awesome for food.

  • I love my Mini 2 too. A real powerhouse. I decided (after a failed attempt to get 40% off itunes credit from Zeek.me) that instead of buying the next new thing I would give iVCS3 a bit of love. Im not saying that its as good as M15 but it's also a beautiful port of a clasic synth, has its own sound and well worth dedicating time too. It runs fine on a mini 1 aswell

Great tune funj. Love those klip klop coconut sounds

  • Love the lead sound. Very nice.

Seeing a dreamy nostalgic vibrachrome scene of kaikoo's hut between the palm trees on the beach, some audiobus people waving in slo-mo at a distant concert cruise ship ...

  • Thanks guys. I was also trying for an M15 sound that could fit in the mix without sounding like a prog lead riff. I think M15 is more varied than I expected in that sense.

My mini2 was glitching on record, but it doesn't seem to have impacted the recording itself.

I may have to change the song name to a more tropical nature, given that seems to be the consensus here!

  • @funjunkie27 Cool, fun song.

Inhad to comment here because I dig the Mini2 so much, and happy to hear that others do as well.

  • Thanks @TozBourne ! Mine still kicks it with a cracked screen from almost a year ago. I always grab it before the iPad4. I'm hoping I can stretch it for another year, at least.

  • @funjunkie27 nice bassline! Sounds like the byways of breezy florida.

  • Thanks @Processaurus . That part and the the perc parts are strictly DD. The chimey parts are M15.

Yeah, def has that tropical vibe but it sounds like fighting off a hangover in paradise. Slightly woozy feel to it that I totally dig. Nice one.

  • Thanks @lukesleepwalker ! I just renamed it to "Caribbean Cruising". The link should still work though.

  • Mini 2's are great man. When you look at the benchmark scores between the 1 and 2 you can really see why the 1 struggles with just about anything these days. It's like they had a quantum leap in processing power in between models. I have an Air 2 now but I'd still love to have a Mini 2. More comfortable, more portable.
