Apps that support State Saving AND Link
I'm hopeful for a not-too-distant future where more apps support both AB State Saving and Ableton Link. The two pieces of tech together go a really long way toward turning a set of disparate apps into a single instrument (and/or a recallable in-progress song). Hopefully AB3 makes some solid moves towards organizing/finding saved states.
Inspired by @lala, I was thinking about basically wiping all music apps from my devices that didn't support both. Started browsing the /apps list to see what was there and what might work. The list of apps is really solid but too many of my turn-to apps are missing state-saving and/or LINK for me to bring the guillotine down completely (midiSteps, modstep, xynthesizer, gadget, steppolyarp, ims-20, NS, funkbox...). Of course, lots of apps like synthesizers and reverbs have no need for LINK.
Wondering if anyone else has gone the way of the Lala and axed anything that doesn't support state saving + LINK?
Also wondering... You may note that lots of the time-based apps in my mini list support LINK but do not support state saving. It's left me assuming that it's somehow harder for sequencers to support state saving since it's not just a set of fixed params (like knobs) that need to be set to a certain value (though some, including FunkBox, do). Is that true?
Here's the list of apps that support both, for the curious. You can, of course, normally just see this on the /apps site but there's a JS bug right now that blocks the loading of the second page so I pasted here for reference (cc/ @sebastian)

And we know TJ is coming soon!
I was poking around on the apps list and here's some other numbers that turned up. Mind, this is via javascript counting not polling the actual AB database so the numbers could be off a bit. Thought others might be interested.
Total Apps = 816
State Saving = 219
Ableton Link = 55
Remote Triggers = 73
No iOS 8 Support = 79
How do we get state saving up to 500?!

So let me get this right, you're considering deleting NanoStudio?
(does the childish nana dance and then feels vaguely foolish)
Link is great for modulation in synths
Listen and see
I'm (miss) using the tempo as envelope...

Ipulsaret and stria coming up next
Link opens all the fun options that never worked with midicklock
It's so easy to create "big drama" now
How do we get state saving up to 500?!
I'm beating on this drum since forever. I don't know.
Can't have too many state savers!
Link lifts off nicely, I think. Widely adopted from everyone.
Waiting for ab3 to "fix midi", good times.
Don't be silly, now. But yes, barring a few must-haves, that's the thought.
I'm still using Isequence to make and export cut loops to sector ^^
I hope j finds the time to give sector link soon.
If NI would include link in traktor that would be big...
I'm waiting for apple to come up with a new iPad mini ...
Ivcs3 and model 15 tempo and a little ape delay synced yum yum good times.
I'm off to state saving link bleepland now.

@lala nice to see a good old audiobus preset again. Just thinking about how these synths from the dawning of the age are finding their own equivalent quantum expansions with link and all ...
