Honeychord Virtual MIDI?

I'm spending the evening digging through my "Unexplored Apps" folder, and I decided to try out Honeychord. I can get the internal sounds to work just fine, but when I set it to Virtual MIDI, I can't get any sounds from any other synths to work. I've tried Animoog, Sunrizer, KORG Module, all with no sounds.

I'm sure I've got something set up wrong. Anyone using this app that might be able to lend a hand?

Just need a fix on midi out with channels section. Plus a fix to allow returning back to main slider window if access setting window. There is no way to flip back when on right hand side slider function, very troublesome. Don't like it this way even though it is free!

  • Now I'm starting to think that I am the problem. Can't get Navichord to work either? I've tried running those apps with ScaleGen, so I know that something is working. I've rebooted my iPad as a troubleshooting attempt, but that didn't do anything.

OK, scratch Navichord, I got that one working. I didn't originally see the extra "Virtual MIDI Output" toggles in the settings (needed to scroll down farther).

For me, Navichord always working. Maybe I always using newest iOS version.

    Working pretty fine!

On Animoog, scalegen midi in channel 1.

On scalegen, midi out to Animoog, midi in from Navichord out on ch1.

On Navichord, midi output only Navichord out.

    No problem.

  • @Seangarland -- I forgot I had Honeychord; so I gave it a try as MIDI controller...at first Animoog was a no go. It did work for Module, GarageBand and SynthMaster. So in Honeychord I turned off each of the Gyro X, Y, and Z controls (under the silver control tab top right)...and made sure Animoog was in audio background mode and -- tada it worked.

Animoog midi is set for Omni and "GypeGrid" is highlighted. Gypegrid must be the midi name for the Honeychord app.

    Hope that helps.
