How is the SE for audio apps?

I'm not planning to go crazy, multitracking in Auria etc lol but i'm curious what it's like in general using stuff like Gadget on a smaller screen. Main usage would be to capture ideas, field recording and stuff like that but also photography and some social media stuff. I guess apps like Soundscaper are pretty awkward to use?

SE looks nice and the 5S is end of cycle, 6 is a little more than i want to spend and i prefer a smaller screen anyway.

TL;DR: I basically want the functionality of the iPad in a more compact form and a decent camera.

Cheers!

  • I thought about it but the screen is so small, but it's powerful tho.

  • I guess it's as powerful as the 6s and its fine for what you will be using it with the exception of gadget, gadget on a 4 inch screen it's unusable, For me, you might want to try it first and see. I know some people find it quite usable so it depends.

Thanks. Same size as the 5 isn't it?

What about apps like Fieldscaper? Is it well optimized for the smaller screen for editing etc?

I'm curious what types of audio apps do work well on a small screen if DAW type apps aint practical as i find the iPad small anyway.

  • gadget works surprisingly well on a 5s. so an Se with its processor would be perfect!

If you find iPad screen size small then I doubt any kind of app will work ok for you on the screen of the iPhone SE. If that's what you're asking

For standalone tactile apps like FS and turnado it's fine but i find it a bit small for stuff like Auria and Gadge, not keen on app switching etc but i won't be using the iPhone as heavily or in the same ways afaik, could be entirely different when i get it in my hand, it may be better cause it'll be more comfortable to hold but i could also use it as a controller with AB remote with the iPad.

Blargh, just found out the SE is out of stock until end of June anyway. :(

  • 6s+ is the best!

  • ^Probably but i wanted 64gb and don't mind a smaller screen, there's quite a difference in price as well. I'm scared i'd drop the 6 all over the place anyway trying to photos etc and the SE seems better for one handed use.

Anyway ordered one today! Looking forward to using it in conjunction with the Air with AB Remote and stuff like that, will see how it works out. :)
