Does anybody here use Reaper for their PC-based DAW?

I am taking a Coursera music course, and had to submit a project in Reaper. I wanted to do most of the work on my iPad and transfer a partially completed project to Reaper for final mixing and automation, but apparently the AAF format isn't well supported without separate software.

Is it possible to go back and forth between Auria and Reaper, or at a minimum move the MIDI and audio stems over? Thanks!

Michael

  • REAPER likes OGG files though. Can you export ogg stems from your app?

  • Reaper will do fine with wav stems. MIDI should open fine too. Rest of the bits (levels, effects and automation) will not carry over. Reaper is great stuff.

  • I use reaper constantly for live recording, then usually go to auria to mix (unless I mix that particular thing in reaper). Your best bet as was said is to export waves from auria and import to reaper. Midi files too.

  • Thank you.

If I can ask a basic question, do you export the waves track by track, or is there a quicker way?

  • Mixdown>Stems will export all tracks as separate audio files.

  • Reaper is my main DAW, highly recommend it.

  • Thanks everybody.

  • Personally I use ableton live due to link but the methods described above should definitely work. Good luck on your project :)

  • I'm recording an entire album in Reaper right now. It's the best.

  • Welcome back @dreamless!
