    Yawn.

:D , not a fan of the loop mode?

  • On my iPhone? C'mon, it's awesome!

  • I dig GB, although I rarely use it. Just found this release to be... Lacking.

  • everyday I tell myself I'm going to get into it, especially now with the looper mode just haven't done so yet

  • What is "Shared iPad in 9.3"?

  • I'm thinking @TedBPhx that it might be for education use.

I think it's mostly a maintenance release, however, it seems to me that there have been more frequent releases lately that include new features.

  • I've deleted everything I possibly can off my iPhone 5 and I still get storage notice pop-ups... dangit!

Two very interesting new Chinese smart instruments included along with a Chinese Perc kit, and also Chinese apple loops in there. Activate them via the spanner menu in the top right corner of the app (they are free)

Also plenty of bug fixes and workflow improvements that we are left to discover for ourselves

    Cheers

  • the most interesting thing are the two new instruments and the new drum set, I'm surprised the update notes didn't event mention them

    You're right. Seems weirdly low-key...

Wow this is awesome! Just incredible! I love all three new instruments (well set for the drums). They are gorgeous and sound so beautiful!
    Thanks for the heads up!

Yes it's a very Ableton like Session View workflow in the Live Loops part of the app. Peeps get put off with the canned loop sets, but it's very cool developing new loops/scenes from scratch like you do in Live

  • Very odd they should not mention the Chinese instruments, they add some nice flavours!

My thought would be that of course they've just entered the Chinese market so they're trying to serve that public without so much as saying so. I'd love to see some Arabic, Turkish. Balkan and Indian music instruments and loops also..

  • yep, funny to hide these instruments, I would not have looked for them without this thread, and they are a nice fun add on to GB, and much more fully featured than the last instruments they added

  • GB goes on and off my iPad more times than a hookers knickers :p

I don't have hookers knickers on my iPad - is it a new app?

  • Great update. Thanks for the post about the new instruments, I like them a lot (and wouldn't have found them by myself, I guess)... I love, how Apple keeps refining these things without making a big fuss about it. Lovely!

Apple didn't "just enter" the Chinese market, they are well entrenched in China and have been for years.

You've not heard of it? You can make the best knicker elastic twanging sounds ever!

Well maybe not "just entered" but just became seriously entrenched last year it seems..

in the same menu as background audio. from your main timeline or from within an instrument, tap the tool icon, then tap advanced, tap enable chinese instruments

  • Thanks, @nick. I had enabled it, but I didn't look for them at the "Drums" place.

  • Just found them. Thanks.
